  • 1Description

The B+W 72mm #900 Rubber Lens Hood is a screw-in type folding rubber lens hood that is designed for use with normal-length and short zoom lenses. It helps to minimize stray light from reaching the lens in order to prevent flare and ghosting. The matte black grooved surface diminishes inner reflections and the rubberized construction adds an extra layer of protection to the lens against bumps or jolts.

72mm #900 Rubber Lens Hood is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works as described Folds and unfolds easily. Adds more length to the lens then I thought, but that could be my inexperience with folding rubber lens hoods. Had to return it since it showed up in the corners of my Sigma 17-70 between 17mm and 24mm, IIRC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Rod Heaven! I use this FOLDING Rubber Lens hood on a 180mm Linhof 617SIII lens, It is great because it does fold down or actually, fold back on itself so that I don't need a bigger case if it didn't fold back on itself. Folding back on itself facilitates also filter changes. I tried putting the hood on already installed filters, but it don't work that way. You gotta put the hood on the camera, and then your UV for lens protection, and so on with filters from there. The thread of the filter itself is as good as it gets, and seems exceedingly substantial in of itself. No complaints. I buy B+W filters all the time. Of course, the rubber hood protects that part of the camera when walking through the masses, more ominous I think. And it makes the camera itself look really like no other now! Try one today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical Hood Works with my 28-200 lens. Can screw polarizing filter to the hood and take both off when shooting inside or just pull the hood back

Rated 4 out of 5 by from B&W equals quality This hood was purchsed for a Vivitar Series 1 flat-field macro zoom. I expect it would be impossible to find an original hood for this lens, but the B&W fills the bill. It collapses when not in use, can stay permanently mounted on the lens, and still allows the use of a front lens cap. This has aquality feel missing in the generic lens hoods, and feels like it will hold up and last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. I use this on my 200 2.8 Canon lens. I was tired of using the plastic one and taking it off when I put the lens into camera bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shade Excellent Value I tried one of the generic 72mm rubber shades. Unfortunately, the mounting ring disco'd itself from the hood first time used. So I bought a few of these with some step rings to make it one size fits nearly all sort of rig. This is like a gift from B+W for about $ bucks. I use it on my Nikon F2 52mm to F4 72mm with various Tiffen adapter step rings. Same for my Hasselblad 67 filters to 60mm.The hood itself is well attached to it's mounting ring. I've used alot since getting them a few weeks ago. I believe they'll last quite awhile. They also work well and since they're collapsable, that helps with storage and to avoid vignetting with some wide angle lenses. They also provide a modicum of protection for the lens itself and since they flex, if they take a hit, chances are they won't torque your lens mounting threads. I highly recommend these.
