Canson Infinity PhotoArt ProCanvas Reviews

L=96 natural white, relative coarse weaving, good coverage.

The only canvas on market (except of similar from one or two european traders) that has popular ~400gsm coarse weaving with little irregural texture, but high L (CIE lightness, not bluish bright) natural white coating (not visibly yellow, but a bit-bit green) and good enough inkjet priming. Most of today's canvases have regular weak texture or/and agressive OBA usage, but not this one. I know one OBA-containing HP canvas with really balanced white, but with banner texture and relatively low ink coverage. Shiny Magiclee has passed away. :( So, this Canson cloth is really good when good color reproduction is desirable and there's no need in cool whites. Someone complains on smearing inks, I think this may occur when excessive amount of ink gets at canvas. Probably, this problem is found only in HP/Canon thermal inkjets. Download correct profiles from manufacturer's page, use corresponding paper settings. However I did not tested these ICC's, cause I use RIP software on 9900/P9000 and build profiles with its tools. Note, that Lustre version of this canvas uses the same cloth, but differs significantly. The prints below are weared, colors are limited cause I use third-party inks (not cheap, though), black shadow in blue is result of my profiling mistake.

Faulty Paper, Bad Customer Service

I used this paper with my Canon 8400 printer. I also used the ICC profile and settings from Canton. First, the ICC profile was faulty because the ink smeared off the paper even after days of drying. I contacted customer support with Canton through their email contact form, explaining the problem. They never got back to me. Clearly, this company does not know how to formulate their paper, and they do not care about customer service. I eventually found an Epson ICC profile that gave me acceptable results, but the ink still smears some. Obviously, this is a big problem. Terrible paper and terrible customer service. I will not use them again.

Great color. Comes with profiles. I tried to stretch mount it .. not possible since the ink drops separate. You have to mount on a board.

Another outstanding quality product from Canson Infinity

The Canson Infinity PhotoArt Canvas Lustre exceeded all my expectations. The very first test image I printedon a Canon ipf6400 printer was absolutely beautiful with very deep, rich colors and luxury soft glow of the canvas. I use icc and media profiles downloaded from the canon-infinity.com website. I print on Canson Infinity papers on regular basis and the papers I use are: PrintMaKing Rag, PLatine Fibre Rag, Baryta photographic, and PhtoSatin Premium RC for proofing. The PhotoArt ProCanvas Lustre is truly special and I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a high quality canvas. My only wish is that Canson Infinity will not discontinue the product.
