Solid RA build quality with locking TA3 & threaded TRS 3.5mm connector for peace of mind. How I use: SD 633 X1/X2 TA3 out to Senn G4 TX for wireless camera hop / client IEM. Highly recommended.

This is a well built cable that will stand up to the rigors of location audio.

So this sort of works, but IMHO it is not wired correctly. I planned to use this for going from the TA3 balanced output on a Zoom F8 to a Sennheiser SK100 G3 wireless transmitter unbalanced input for a wireless audio hop. When I used this cable I did not get the gain I expected on the transmitter. Investigating I found on the TA3 connector the cold (inverted signal) line shorted to ground and the ring on the locking 3.5mm connector not connected. This does not seem like the correct wiring to me. I'm a little concerned at what are the long term effects on the Zoom F8 of shorting a signal line to ground, additionally the ring on the 3.5mm should be pulled to ground to be correctly wired per the Sennheiser operating manual. This cable makes much more sense to me for running the wireless receiver unbalanced output into a balanced input on a mixer, but not the way it is marketed for going to the wireless transmitter.

Good to Go!

Can this be used to connect the Sennheiser G3 receiver to the Canon C70?
Asked by: Seth
You would need the Xlr side of the cable to be male (TA3M) since the camera audio input is female. Other than that yes it should work. TA3 is the same as mini XLR.
