Marking the first non-vacuum tube FET-based solid state mic, the M62 Small Diaphragm FET Condenser Microphone from Telefunken utilizes the TK62 capsule from their M260 line combined with their M60 amplifier body. The mic provides a fast and accurate transient response, and can handle up to 130 dB of maximum SPL, allowing it to be placed in front of a variety of sound sources.

The TK62 provides a hyper-cardioid pattern flat in response from 150 Hz to 3 kHz, with a dip at 6 kHz and a smooth, airy presence peak at 8 kHz, making it optimized for use on cymbals, percussion, and as a stereo pair for live performance recording. The mic features a clean, Class A discrete amplifier for accurate sonic reproduction and includes a shockmount, a zippered case, and XLR cable.
