Bushnell 260140MT overview

  • 1Description

The 4.5x40 Equinox Z Digital Night Vision Monocular from Bushnell uses an infrared (IR)-sensitive CMOS sensor and a micro LCD screen for its night vision capabilities, instead of a conventional intensifier tube. A side rail enables accessories to be attached directly to the monocular. The screen displays color images during the day and black and white when the night vision is on for greater clarity and contrast. Enhancing the optical 4.5x magnification is a digital zoom to provide up to 13.5x total magnification.

Capture video and still images in 640x480 resolution and save them to a user-supplied micro-SD card in the built-in card slot. It supports cards up to 32GB. A switch on the bottom of the monocular lets you quickly switch from video to still images. A USB port lets you transfer the files to a computer without having to remove the card. An RCA video-out port allows the live video feed to be sent to an external monitor or recording device. The status of the monocular is displayed on the LCD screen in the field of view. The icons can be disabled for an unobstructed view. Icons show battery level, zoom factor, IR, and image brightness settings, if a memory card isn't detected, elapsed and remaining recording time, and the number of pictures you can take based on the available memory.

The housing is IPX4-rated for water resistance and has a contoured shape with knurling to provide a secure and comfortable grip for one-handed operation. The rubberized menu buttons are conveniently located at the top within easy reach of your fingertips. There is an accessory rail located on the left side that allows you to attach optional equipment like additional infrared illumination or lasers. This device can be easily used handheld or be mounted to a tripod via a built-in 1/4"-20 socket. Using the included mount you can attach this night vision monocular to the Picatinny-style rails. Also included are a carry case and lens covers.

    Bushnell 260140MT reviews

4.5x40 Equinox Z Digital Night Vision Monocular with a Picatinny Mount is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as described Very good quality! Have only used it around the house and outside but has a very good range and picture. Mounted on my AR behind a reflex red dot with no problem and the eye relief is decent for not being designed as a rifle scope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money Definitely worth It. It is bulky but I was impressed on how clear it was. It's nothing to get to excited about but it gets the job done. Easily see 200 yds. Only thing is if you use a 20mm red dot it hinders the collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I have been searching for a night vision scope under$300. While this device isn't a traditional scope with a reticle, the line of sight when mounted on an AR is very straight. I tested it on full zoom and a green laser and while the laser dot wasn't exactly in the middle, it was in the square field of view. Meaning: I could use paired with a laser to be accurate. A green laser would show up on target at night, so I might want to get an IR laser, but I did not have one to test. The night vision is clear and with the highest IR settings at night out on a gas line I could easily see deer at 500 yards, which was quite impressive. It is bulky and looks huge when mounted on my AR, but unless you want to spend much more that will be the case. Great value for a device that works at night and during the day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My first one It seems to work well. The image is a little fuzzy. It would probably work better if used with a separate IR illuminator. For the price it is probably a good deal. I would like to see what a couple of hundred dollars would get, to truly compare.
