question

Hi, is this grip compatible with the original EM5 (not the Mark II)? Thanks in advance!
Asked by: Anonymous
No, that is only compatible with the E-M5 II.The only grip that works with the E-M5 is Olympus Power Battery Holder HLD-6, B&H # OLHLD6 MFR # V3281300U000. And it comes with a battery holder as well as a grip.

question

Does this metal grip screw into the base of the battery pack grip on the omd em5 II?
Asked by: Anonymous
No, this is an entirely different extended grip for the em5 mkII; it has a cut out in the bottom of the plate to allow access to the camera's battery compartment, but is not designed to integrate with the 2 piece combination battery pack external grip which Olympus also sells for both the em5 mk 1 and the em5 mkII

question

Can you use the cable release port with the grip attached & the camera mounted in portrait mode on an arca swiss head? i.e. Is there enough space to plug in the connector and route the cable out while still using the L-plate mount (when in vertical orientation)?
Asked by: Andy B.
This is obviously late, but for the record, you can mount the L-plate BACKWARDS, allowing access to the ports. The plate won't be centered on the focal plane, but it works and is adequately stable.
