Residing on Layer 2 of a network and acting as the backbone of a medium to large business network, the FS728TLP ProSAFE 24-Port PoE Fast Ethernet Smart Switch from NETGEAR comes equipped with 24 Fast Ethernet ports capable of handling a large amount of network traffic. Along with Fast Ethernet ports, this switch comes equipped with four Gigabit Fiber ports, two of which are combo ports designed to provide fast uplink connections to local area storage devices. This NETGEAR switch also provides up to 100 watts of PoE power to power devices like VoIP phones, access points, IP cameras and more.

Once configured, network administrators can utilize enhance Quality of Service (QoS) functionality to ensure that bandwidth is properly allocated for better delivery of network resources. Network security is another major concern for most businesses and this switch supports 802.1x authentication, HDCP filtering, port based security by locked MAC, and ACL filtering. Upgrading the FS78TLP has also been simplified thanks to dual firmware image and dual configuration files. This simplifies the process of upgrading the firmware and configuration files while avoiding network interruptions.
