Crucial MX200 Overview

The MX200 250GB mSATA Internal Solid State Drive from Crucial features a storage capacity of 250GB with mSATA SSD form factor. The MX200 loads programs in a few seconds, and accelerates applications with ease. It also features Dynamic Write Acceleration technology, and increases your system's performance. The internal SSD provides more reliability than a hard drive and it lets you store up to 250GB of data.

Performance
The MX200 delivers 550 MB/s sequential reads on both compressible and incompressible data, and out-performs a typical hard drive by 400 MB/s.
Transfer and Save Large Files
Dynamic Write Acceleration technology uses an adaptable pool of high speed, single-level cell flash memory for consistently fast performance.
Reliability
RAIN technology protects your data at the component level, similar to how RAID is used with multiple hard drives. This technology increases the security and protection of your data to a level that is rarely seen in consumer-class SSDs.
Encrypt and Protect Data
Keep personal files and sensitive information secure from hackers and thieves with AES 256-bit encryption. The MX200 meets or exceeds industry encryption standards, including Microsoft eDrive, IEEE-1667, and TCG Opal 2.0.
Extreme Energy Efficiency Technology
With Extreme Energy Efficiency technology, the MX200 is nearly two times more energy efficient than a typical hard drive.
Avoid Overheating
Adaptive Thermal Protection technology enables the MX200 to dynamically adjust storage component activity based on how you are using the drive, allowing your storage system to stay cool.
Keep Photos and Files Safe
When a photo or file gets corrupted, it often becomes unusable. The MX200 prevents this from happening, as it arms every storage component with four layers of Exclusive Data Defense.

question

Can an SSD drive in a dual docking station be turned into a RAID as a mac Timemachine (or other) backup for my laptop drive? Have an SSD drive that was gifted to me but is only half size of my laptop internal drive, so another of same size in a dock or enclosure should presumably be fine for a RAID set for backup no?
Asked by: Francisco B.
hey you can but you might need a raid card best bet is to use it as a back drive and get a bigger size due to cost and performance
