GoPro ANDFR-302 overview

  • 1Description

The Frame for HERO3 / HERO3+ / HERO4 from GoPro is the simplest, lightest way to mount a HERO3, HERO3+, or HERO4 action camera. It is suitable for applications where size and weight outweigh the protection a housing provides. It features the standard two-prong mounting interface allowing the camera to be mounted on most accessories for GoPro, and will support the attachment of an optional BacPac accessory. Included with The Frame is GoPro's glass Protective Lens, Quick Release Buckle, and thumbscrew.

Latch Secures Camera
The Frame uses an integrated latch designed to make installing and removing your GoPro from it as fast and simple as possible.
Optimal Audio Capture
The open design grants unimpeded access to the camera's mic for optimal audio capture during low-speed activities.
Access to Ports
Enables full-time access to the camera's microSD, Micro HDMI, and USB ports for easy data offload, live-feed video, and charging.
BacPac Compatible
Extendable support arm allows you to attach an LCD Touch BacPac or Battery BacPac, and holds the BacPac securely in place while shooting.
Protective Lens Included
The glass Protective Lens fits over the camera lens to guard it from scratches, dirt and debris.

    GoPro ANDFR-302 reviews

    The Frame for HERO3 / HERO3+ / HERO4 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product Overall, One Minor Annoyance This frame is great for these reasons: 1) You can angle the camera up and down while placed on a flat surface 2) the lens cover protects the lens from scratches without compromising video quality 3) You get much better sound with this frame as opposed to the waterproof case One thing that is not good about the frame is that the SD card slot/charging port cover is very hard to take off and put on. It's not a huge issue for me though because I just leave it off. Overall, I think this is a great addition to your GoPro collection, especially if you are looking for increased protection and functionality without adding too much bulk to the camera.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from There are cheaper alternatives Pros: Lightweight Good audio record for obvious reasons Comes with Lens Protector Cons The hinge system might not be for everyone. Card Slot opening is too small. Although the material used in this product is by no means 'cheap' the hinge system might be to brittle/breakable for some with bigger hands. The open slot for the ports is too small for your average MicroHDMI/USB that is sold in store. This defeats the only purpose for this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight alternative for sheltered use My wife bought me the Hero 4 Silver for my birthday, knowing it would get use nearly every Summer weekend autocrossing with the local clubs. Because I like to see what I'm doing as a driver, I wanted to helmet mount the camera. This is an enclosed car, so no weather protection is needed. Having the smallest, lightest mount that could still be aimed for a drivers point of view is what this mount provides! The other feature I didn't appreciate until my first event was the quick release feature that allows you to get the camera in and out of the bracket one handed. Nice! Worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Frame is Outstanding! Big thumbs up! The frame is GREAT! the only problem I kept having is to take off the clear lens cover before filming. So... I ran some sand paper over it, scuffed it up real good to remedy the problem. Now I never forget to take the lens cover off because you can't see through it. I filmed with the clear lens cover on before I sanded, and the footage was ruined. Just an FYI...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The New Frame Mount I like this frame mount better than the previous one. You only need one if you want to use the battery pack or the LCD screen. Its very handy. I use it for best sound quality with no restrictions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from really cool in theory I really loved this product, until it broke. theres a thin piece of plastic where the latch snaps shut that breaks fairly easy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breaks Easily I love The Frame for its easy access to ports and SD card. Its light-weight and minimal design is great for 95% of my shooting. However, I've gone through 2 of them now. Both have cracked in the same place; right where the hinge is located. I don't even take mine out of the frame all that often either. I've gone back to the original frame. The design is not as good because it's much harder to get the camera in and out, but it least it does not break.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, but don't run over it with a chair I use the on my go pros because I need to monitor them via the HDMI cable so the open side is great. Not sure how mine was broken in my office, but it didn't seem to take much to render it useless. (this purchase is for a replacement). It doesn't protect the camera as much as the other cases, but if you need access to the USB port (for power) or HDMI while recording, it's a good option.
