B+W 65-069646 Overview

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

The B+W #920 wide-angle metal lens hood is made of black-anodized aluminum with light-absorbing flat black ribs on the inside and protects against contrast-reducing, uncontrolled, stray light. It is designed for wide-angle (zoom) lenses with angles of view up to 70° wide (approx. 28mm in 35mm format).

Cheaper than the overpriced Canon hood and provides better coverage. All metal quality is very nice.

Very high quality for a mundane item. Nice matte finish. Threads well to the lens. Very satisfied.

question

What size protective cap does this require when attached to lens?
Asked by: Ryan
I bought this for the Canon RF 35 1.8 and while it fits the lens, the 52mm lens cap that came with the lens will snap in when the hood is screwed on.

question

Does it have front filter threads?
Asked by: Justin
No, this does not have front filter threads. A hood like this never does. If the lip was thinner it could. But then it wouldn't be a hood but a step-up ring instead.
