Add wireless music streaming to your audio system with the Mass Fidelity Relay Hi-Fi Bluetooth DAC. This unit incorporates wireless Bluetooth connectivity, and features an operating distance of up to 33'. In addition to Bluetooth aptX compatibility, the Relay is equipped with a high-performance Burr-Brown digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for high-quality audio playback. Bluetooth aptX is designed to deliver CD-like sound quality when paired when similarly equipped audio sources.
For connecting to your audio system, gold-plated stereo RCA outputs are onboard. As an added convenience, RCA-to-RCA and RCA-to-3.5mm cables are included. The Relay also includes power adapters for US and International use. As a plug-n-play device, no software is required for installation. With a length of 4.5", the Relay is compact enough for on-the-go use.
Long Range Wireless Performance
The Relay employs a low-loss connector and external high gain antenna to help ensure consistent, glitch-free performance for up to 33' feet.
Low Noise Sound
The Relay's linear low noise, low-dropout regulators and input noise filters are designed to reject signal noise and interference, while its Triple Star Ground circuit geometry eliminates ground loop induced hum.
The Relay's stable phase locked audio sample clock reduces jitter allowing the DAC to faithfully render audio signals.
Choose Your DAC
Thanks to its Uni-fi output stage you have the option of using your own outboard DAC with the Relay. With a 5 second push of the power button, the Relay switches the two RCA jacks to output 24-bit S/PDIF digital. Either with its built-in DAC or an outboard DAC, the Relay is engineered to deliver high-performance wireless Bluetooth sound quality.
Music and Control
The Relay doesn't require any apps or software in order to give you full control. Within minutes you'll be able to chose and control you music sources stored on your smart device. Using the Relay and your smart device you can access your existing audio services such as iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, and more. You can also access your cloud-network-based music libraries and stream them via your smart devices.
Push the control button on the back of the unit briefly and the LED will glow white. The Relay automatically goes into pairing mode and initiates the software that synchronizes the Relay and the Bluetooth device. Make sure Bluetooth is activated on your smart device and select "Relay" from the list of available devices.
In households where more than one person uses the system or when guests want to share their music through the Relay and the hi-fi system, PartyPairing and TurboPairing come into play. PartyPairing eliminates a step in switching from one source device to another. Just turn Bluetooth off in the first device, turn Bluetooth on in the second and select Relay as the device. There is no need to reset the Relay and press its control button a second time.
The Relay can connect to only one smart device at a time; however it is capable of remembering up to six devices. Once a device has paired with the Relay, TurboPairing remembers it to speed up pairing at a later time. Once more than six devices have been paired the oldest device is discarded. To add a device back into TurboPairing memory, simply reconnect the device.
The Relay has two gold-plated RCA jacks that can operate either as analog or digital outputs. Simply connect the supplied RCA-to-RCA signal cable from the Relay's left and right outputs to the RCA analog inputs of your compatible audio system. For systems that have 3.5mm jack input, use the supplied RCA-to-mini cable.
Listeners who prefer to use an outboard DAC or the digital input of a surround receiver can do so by holding the rear-panel control button for 5 seconds until the pilot light turns orange. Connect either output jack to the digital input of the amp, receiver, or DAC. The Relay can feed two digital streams at the same time. For example you can feed one digital output to a surround receiver or your system's primary DAC and the other to a headphone amp/DAC combo unit.
