I thought it was made from some type of metal but two of my inserts slots broke off revealing that it's made of plastic. Maybe a faulty one?

premium price for an ok ring

These rings are much too expensive, and the color code might be useful for neophytes, but they work. l mean, it feels a bit under-engineered, but they are light. I used them (2x3 and a strip 1x4) on a pair of profoto B2, and indeed the rings feel a bit flimsy, but the overall weight of the system is very attractive on location. I shoot both full length portraits and products, it works well for that size job. It would have gotten 5 stars but for the ridiculous price of these rings. There are cheaper alternative, of course, but don't mess with lighting.

    Solidly built

Built like a tank. My only gripe is that the rubber gasket that sits next to the flash head itself can sometimes come off. I would like to see a little better locking mechanism.

I wish it was strong enough for non OCF softboxes. Its great when used as intended.

I love the profoto speed ring label system with colors to show where the attachment for each light modifier goes, it's brilliant! It's a necessity if you have profoto gear!

Will this speedring work on a Profoto D1?
    Asked by: Benjamin K.
As Carlos H. said on Sep 23, 2017, it will fit all Profoto heads, but it's not to be used with heads that have halogen modeling lamps. It's not designed for the heat output from those lamps.

    question

Can this speeding be used for a Chimera soft box?
    Asked by: Deven
In order to use a Chimera soft box on the Stella Pro lights you would need a Chimera to Profoto Speedring and the Stella Profoto Adapter. Here are the Chimera to Profoto Speedrings: https://<a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/354782-REG/Chimera_2330QR_Quick_Release_Speed_Ring.html target= _blank >www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/354782-REG/Chimera_2330QR_Quick_Release_Speed_Ring.html</a> or you could use this one too: https://<a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/13811-REG/Chimera_2330_Speed_Ring_for_Profoto.html. target= _blank >www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/13811-REG/Chimera_2330_Speed_Ring_for_Profoto.html.</a> This last Speedring is a little lighter and more in keeping with the lightweight of the Stella Pro lights.
