question

The specs say it is not threaded for filters. Yet, at least one reviewer said he plans to use his 52mm polarizing filter. Will the P610 accept a filter?
Asked by: Dave K.
There appears to be threads inside the inter rim of the lens however I don't think it is for filters. It could be for some type of and adapter. I checked the manual and could not find anything regarding this. The camera does have some built in filters but not Polarizer or ND. I could not even find the mm size for this listed on the specs. Note: This camera does not have a port for a cable release. There are times you need this. I use this camera for birds and find I am better off using a tripod. Other than that I use a D7000, D800 and a D810 for everyday use.

question

Is there much of a lag when filming videos? Reviews I've seen on the P600 said there was a good 1 sec lag before it started recording. I have read that the P610 is faster, but can't seem to find out how much faster.

question

Will it take good pictures of the moon?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would highly recommend this camera for moon pictures. With the 60 magnification, and resolution, it would do what more expensive cameras may dream about. You should use a sturdy tripod, and experiment the exposure, starting with auto, but finalizing with aperture priority, probably at midpoint of the ranges.
