Rogue Photographic Design ROGUEGRID2 Overview

Limit light spill and take control of the light beam with the 3-in-1 Flash Grid with 3-Gel Starter Kit with Black Inserts from Rogue Photographic Design. This updated model utilizes a belt and buckle attachment system for a more secure hold on your flash head.

The kit comes with 45 and 25° grids (inserts), which can be used independently or stacked to produce a 16.25° beam angle. This version of the kit comes with black grids that render a slightly more contrasty quality of light with sharp fall off around the projected spot of light. A storage pouch is provided, along with Dark Salmon, Oklahoma Yellow, and Steel Green gels.

I have a set of rectangular gels for my speed lights already, will those work with this product or do I have to get the circular ones?
Asked by: Andre
The rectangular shaped Rogue Flash Gels you are referring to will not fit over the top of the Rogue Grid. We do not recommend using the Rogue Flash Gels over the flash head underneath the grid.

Knowing the Godox AD200 has a fresnal head similar to a speed light, would this fit it?
Asked by: Edgar
It will not fit though Godox has a filter kit set for the AD200 Pro https://bhpho.to/3g63OgH

question

Does anyone have two of these units and tried different combinations of stacking elements? e.g. what would two 45's do or two 25's do?
Asked by: Ricky
Stacking the grids will reduce the size of the grid creating a tighter grid. There is no set number but it does reduce it a lot. The more you stack the tighter the spot. It also reduces the amount of light.

question

It looks like this is the same as the B&H # EXHG grid and just includes three gels in addition. Is that correct? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/761614-REG/ExpoImaging_ROGUEGRID_Rogue_Grid.html

The new version uses an improved belt and buckle design that provides a faster and more secure attachment for the flash. It comes with three gels Dark Salmon, Green and Yellow.

This is a rather silly question, but might this fit the godox ad300?
Asked by: Edgar
Nope! Tried it. The AD 300 has a diameter that is bigger than what the Rogue Grid Kit can handle. Sorry, I would have liked it to work, too! But it works great for standard speed lights!

question

Compared to magmod and gary fong grid, how does this perform? Does Rogue also offer the CTO gel?
Asked by: Jonathan J.
I like my Rogue and it works just fine but the Magmod has magnets that would be a plus. Magnetics and hard gels come at a much higher price point. As far as the CTO filters Rogue covers all of the possibilities and you can cut and use any from other sources. I'm sure Magmod has the same. Rogue is a space saver as it stores flat, Magmod does not.
