  • 1Description

The NUC5i3RYH Mini PC NUC Kit from Intel is a compact system that fits in the palm of your hand and packs the performance of a Broadwell dual-core Intel Core i3-5010U processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500. It features two SODIMM slots that can accept up to 16GB of DDR3L 1333/1600 MHz of RAM. For long-term storage, it has room to hold a 2.5" hard drive or SSD as well as an mSATA drive connected to the M.2 slot. Once a storage drive is added, you may install an optional operating system such as Windows and Linux. It also features a mini-HDMI and a mini DisplayPort to deliver high-definition content to your monitor or TV. With Bluetooth 4.0, you can wirelessly pair speakers or a mouse with this NUC. In addition to outputting video, the system features an infrared sensor that you can use an optional remote to control it right from your couch.

This NUC connects to the Internet for downloading online videos using its built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi or the Gigabit Ethernet jack. For connecting with your peripherals, it offers four USB 3.0 ports. Additionally, one of the USB ports can easily charge your tablet or smartphone quickly. To save desk space, the system may be mounted to a wall or the back of your VESA-compatible monitor using the included VESA mount bracket. Moreover, you may personalize this system with different styles and features by replacing the lid. When fully equipped, the Intel NUC mini PC is designed for everyday use and gives you the power to play, create, and entertain.

Processing and Graphics
This NUC is equipped with a 5th generation 2.1 GHz Intel Core i3-5010U processor featuring visibly smart graphics using Intel HD Graphics 5500 to provide enhanced performance and improved graphics for casual and online gaming, video playback, and web browsing. Intel NUC5i3RYH reviews

NUC5i3RYH Mini PC NUC Kit is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from a neat balance of performance, form factor and power Bought this for a dedicated HTPC that runs PLEX and KODI. Running Win7-64 bit pro on it now. No issue with drivers or performance so far. Everything works as intended. Integrated graphics is more than sufficient for my current 1080p playback. M.2 SSD (x4 lanes) is a nice add on for upgrade later. But right now, SSDs are the economical option to go with until price of M.2 with 1 GBps read/write speed drop down. Would prefer a slightly better BIOS, as it requires mouse at times to restore keyboard navigation. That's a minor pain. Will definitely recommend for its power consumption and form factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fanstastic Daily use Linux machine! This is a Great Linux machine for the money and it can do 4k @ 60hz with the right setup. These lines of code will let you output 4k at 60hz using a mini dp to hdmi 2.0 ACTIVE adaptor with a NUC5i5RYH. This makes it a fantastic little linux pc, just place them in an .sh file and run the script on starup or type them straight into your teminal. Tested with ubuntu and Arch linux xrandr --newmode 3840x2160_59.95 533.6 3840 3982 4027 4064 2160 2170 2180 2190 +hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode DP1 3840x2160_59.95 xrandr --output DP1 --mode 3840x2160_59.95

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Minimalisitc Photo Processing Desktop I've been using computers all my life, from Apple II in the 80's to IBM 386SX 25Mhz in the 90's and both the current Windows and Mac desktop systems. I hate big desktops in ugly drab towers with noisy power fans that take up space on my work desk. I no longer care about having the fastest desktop rig with overlocked CPU processor with aftermarket cooling upgrade and all that unnecessary stuff. This Intel i3 is good enough for almost everything. The current i3 generation is pretty advanced and outperforms some older i7 processors. I thought about getting the i7 version but this is really enough. With 16GB ram I can use all my Adobe and Corel applications fine. I used to use Mac mini desktop with i7 processor but it didn't work much better than this i3 system. Windows 10 installed fine and seems to work with some glitches with current Intel drivers and Internet explorer is the usual mess, slow and glitch on the new Windows. Other than usual dumb Microsoft Windows, the hardware of the mini pc is pretty perfect in a low, silent profile with enough computing power for most tasks. I was able to play some good games on this hardware. Games like X-Com, Boderlands 2, Dead Island will run ok on this system but I don't care about that. Adobe lightroom works smooth on this which is all I really care about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this PC again. I am using it for watching streamed TV over the internet. Great picture out of it. I bought the recommended 16 GB of ram, 250 GB SSD hard drive and wireless mouse and keyboard. I've only had it for week or so, but I am very happy with it. It was easy to add the memory and the hard drive. You will have to either have a portable CD/DVD drive or a thumb drive to install your operating system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Satisfied! After a false start - due to incompatible RAM - I am up and running with my existing Windows 10 Pro OS and all my applications and files from my previous system. Surprisingly, the System (on SSD) installed to the Intel NUC without even the slightest complaint for being from a AMD Motherboard (which died on me a week ago)! I was expecting to have to do a complete install from a new Windows Flash-Drive and then: restore my files etc. My only recommendation is: By all means, purchase the Intel-recommended RAM at the same time as the NUC and any other necessary components! I checked Intel's Internet site for the recommended Brands of RAM and ordered the part which is offered by B&H along with the Kit. That RAM is a perfect fit, as opposed to the DDR-3 Ram I tried to re-cycle from my old motherboard - which prevented the NUC starting at all! I will order a second matching 4GB RAM module very soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressive! I'm buying Intel NUC's on regular base. Use it mostly with TV's. Definitely this one is the best so far. It has already WiFi adapter built-in. New model. And it's a very good one! Reception is better comparing with 7260 models. Unit has everything I could wish: 4x USB 3.0, mini HDMI and ThinderBolt on top. Assembling and checking the BIOS settings took minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, but not perfect. Love everything about it. The small form factor, the specs. I installed the NUC on the back of an LED monitor in a heartbeat. It's a great way to have the convenience of a desktop computer, without it taking up too much space. Also, I can't recommend enough installing an SSD on this computer it really does make a difference. The only problem I had with the unit, was that the integrated Wi-Fi card didn't appear to be powerful enough. For some reason it picked up very few wireless signals (regardless of their frequency), and once connected, it had a hard time maintaining the connection. I had to place the NUC very close to the router in order for it to connect to my home Wi-Fi, but it would still get disconnected sporadically. Other devices (such as smartphones and laptops) didn't have this same problem. In fact, they even managed to connect properly at a greater distance. After troubleshooting the card with no success, I finally got it working by connecting a USB wireless adapter and called it a day.
