The Buffalo 4TB (2 x 2TB) TeraStation 1200 NAS Server is a two-bay storage solution that comes with two 2TB hard drives that are configured for RAID 1. This configuration provides redundancy as it saves an exact copy of data on both drives, which makes it suitable for use in small business and home offices. The NAS also supports JBOD and RAID 0, which provides faster access to your data. For convenience, each drive bay supports hot swapping and hot spare. You can connect the TeraStation 1200 to your network via a Gigabit Ethernet port and additional external storage drives using the USB 2.0 port.
The TeraStation 1200 is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-issue ARM processor and 512MB of DDR3 RAM to manage the stored data and to run the pre-installed TeraStation NAS operating system. This OS provides network file sharing, security, RAID management, remote access, and more. In addition, you can perform scheduled or real-time replication that transfers your data stored on the drives to another TeraStation device. Moreover, this NAS supports Time Machine backups, and 10 licenses of NovaBACKUP for PCs are included to protect your data.
Shared Central Storage
TeraStation 1200 provides a reliable, central location to store and protect all data from every PC and Mac computer, tablet device, and smartphone in your home or small office. Store, access, and share files from anywhere over your wireless network at speeds up to twice as fast as a standard USB hard drive.
TeraStation NAS System
Buffalo's TeraStation NAS System provides a host of business-class features from network file sharing and security to RAID management, remote access, and more. Managing data, backups, and data sharing in a production environment or business network is made easy with this NAS operating system.
Remote File Access Service
With free services such as Buffalo's WebAccess and FTP/SFTP servers, you can access your files in the office, at home, or on the road for easy collaboration and increased productivity.
Automatic Data Protection
Support for multiple levels of RAID provides continuous data protection and increased fault tolerance and data availability. RAID 0 - combines all drives into a single array offering maximum capacity with no redundancy RAID 1 - mirrors two arrays, creating an exact copy of data for fault tolerance
TeraStation 1200 features Buffalo's replication technology providing real-time synchronous replication of data from one TeraStation NAS to another TeraStation NAS for easy, continuous data protection in the event of data loss.
Backup for PC and Mac
Buffalo has included 10 free licenses of NovaBACKUP Business Essentials for Windows PCs and servers. It also supports Time Machine to back up multiple Mac computers. You can set up regular backups for every computer on your network and easily protect all of your important business or personal data, down to the very last byte.
Twonky, a DLNA server, can be used as an iTunes server to stream all of your favorite music, movies, and shows to multiple devices simultaneously.
Buffalo's free WebAccess service allows you to create a personal cloud for easy remote access and file sharing with anyone, anywhere over the Internet. Your data remains securely stored in one place on your home network, but you can access it quickly from any computer, iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows mobile device over the web.
