This step-up from the smaller TA44, the Trijicon 2x20 TA47 ACOG Riflescope maintains a compact form-factor but with an extra 0.5x magnification and larger objective to allow users the ability to identify and detect targets to as much as 215yd (200m). Its compact design makes this an ideal optic for smaller platforms such as UZI, H&K, or MP-5 9mm sub-machine guns.

The TA47 features tactical hand-adjustable windage and elevation turrets, and a battery-free illuminated reticle to create a versatile weapon sight that is well-suited for use in a wide range of situations and conditions. This Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG) sight was designed for use with the both-eyes-open Bindon Aiming Concept for superior sense of balance and a wider field-of-view, and is outfitted with an red duplex crosshair reticle that enables fast sighting and tracking for CQB operations and precise shot placement at distance. Anti-reflection broadband fully multicoated optics maximizes light transmission to provide bright and clear views with limited distortion.

Trijicon's battery-free dual-illumination reticle system employs a tritium phosphor lamp for low-light and night targeting, as well as a fiber optic illumination that focuses, channels, and filters available light to illuminate the reticle. Using ambient light ensures that the reticle brightness will be appropriate for the conditions without any adjustment by the user. The reticle's aiming point can be adjusted in 1/2 MOA increments, and an internal adjustment mechanism allows the ACOG to reliably hold zero. Complementing the ACOG's optical and illumination systems is a nitrogen-filled, 7075-T6 aluminum housing with a corrosion and scratch-resistant matte black anodized finish that provides the durability needed for reliable performance in a wide range of conditions.

Optical Performance

  • 2x low magnification
  • 20mm objective lens
  • Broad-band multicoated lenses enhance clarity and increase light transmission by minimizing flare, glare, reflections, and distortion
  • 29' field of view at 100 yd
  • 5.6° actual angle of view

Reticle Details

  • Dual-illuminated red duplex crosshair reticle
  • Duplex crosshair design with plain outer posts and illuminated center aiming hairs
  • Dual illumination system: Battery-free tritium and fiber-optics
  • Tritium isotope: Interacts with a phosphors membrane to create illumination for the reticle in low or no light
  • Fiber optics: Focuses, channels, and filters ambient light to illuminate the reticle

Use and Handling

  • 1/2 MOA per click impact point correction
  • ±40 MOA windage/elevation adjustment range
  • Tactical tool-free adjustment turrets

question

Can this optic be used with a flat top mount to mount it to a upper receiver directly instead of a carry handle?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately the Trijicon 1.5x24 TA45 ACOG Riflescope is a M 16 handle mount only.

question

Specs say this RCO is designed for 14.5 inch barrel. Will it be ok on a 16 inch barrel? Trajectory of a 5.56 is pretty comparable regardless of barrel length I thought.
Asked by: H G.
The problem is one of velocity, not so much barrel length. Generally speaking the longer the barrel the higher the velocity. The difference in barrel length is 1 1/2 inch but remember that rarely does manufacturer specs match up with the actual velocity, too the outside temperature will affect the actual velocity. Unless you are a purist the difference is not worth worrying about. Also, the 223/5.56 is a very flat shooting cartridge, depending on the load and I am assuming a standard 55 grain load. With the right zero the bullet will never be more than 3 high or 3 low out to over 300 yards. If you hand load it would be a very easy matter to adjust the velocity if you felt the need to do so. Regardless of what ammo you shoot there will be variances in velocity unless you have match grade ammo. You can zero this scope wherever you want with the added benefit that it has range finding ability. By the way, the horizontal line is NOT for windage . . . . . the Chevron is used for that. The horizontal line is in Mil's . . . . . read the manual.

question

I cannot get my TA02 elevation adjustment to adjust down. In fact, I'm getting no movement up or down. Windage works. What can I do?.
Asked by: Ronald M.
If the elevation adjustment on your Trijicon 4x32 ACOG LED is not moving at all. I would suggest you return as it seems you have an internal mechanical mechanism failure. So there is very little you can do.

question

when bore sighting at10 or 25 meters what is the setting?
Asked by: william w.
This can be a rather complicated process. Even more so if the scope has been damaged in shipping. I will refer you to a very comprehensive explanation of the best way to bore sight your Trijicon 4x32 ACOG. Here is a link to an excellent explanation of a not so simple a process. Scroll down the page till you see Strykervet and start reading, I think this will clarify things for you.<a href= http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-597732.html target= _blank >http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-597732.html</a>

question

Does this scope include adjustment caps with lanyards, adjustment without tools and a hard case?
Asked by: Lawrence H.
Yes, yes, and yes. One thing to note, in case it's important to you, the RMR sight that sits atop the ACOG cannot be turned off. It is constantly on, which I don't really mind. I can't remember what Trijicon quoted for battery life but it is certainly long enough that being unable to turn it off shouldn't be an issue.
