Designed and built for patrol duty, tactical operations and surveillance professionals, Steiner Optics' 7x50 P750 Binocular has gray armoring to blend into urban environments, large objectives to provide detailed views in full daylight and enhanced low-light performance, and a utilitarian 7x magnification to bring subjects in close while maintaining a wide field of view that preserves situational awareness. Multiple technologies and design features work together to create an easy-to-use binocular that will stand up to the rigors of a life lived on-duty.
Its performance starts with fully multicoated optics that enhance image quality in challenging light conditions such as in hazy sunlight or at dawn and dusk. The Porro prism optical path provides a rich depth of field that allows users to discern the relative positions of objects, making it easier to judge distances. The prisms employ a floating-mount system that uses flexible silicon mounts to absorb shock, impact and abuse without damage. Complementing the optical system is the Sports Auto Focus system that lets users individually focus each eyepiece and maintains image sharpness from 66 feet to infinity without the need to manipulate a focus wheel.
The P750's housing is made of impact and corrosion-resistant Makrolon polycarbonate to withstand the rigors of constant use. Makrolon is also temperature-resistant to reduce expansion and contraction often experienced with metal housing during wide temperature swings, which can cause the optical components to move out of collimation over time, preventing the ability to achieve crisp focus and clear images. The housing is covered with gray NBR-Longlife rubber armoring which provides a soft feel in the hand yet provides protection against oil, acid, and salt-water while giving it a slip-resistant grip. To round out the binocular's usefulness, the housing is nitrogen filled for fogproof performance and O-ring sealed to make it fully waterproof.
