Steiner P1027 overview

  • 1Description

Steiner Optics designed the gray 10x26 P1026 Compact Binocular to blend into urban environments for patrol duty, tactical operations, and surveillance professionals who require lightweight and compact observation tools that don't sacrifice performance for size and can withstand the rigors of daily use. The P1026 utilizes compact roof prisms to reduce the form factor and fully multicoated the glass elements with the proprietary High Contrast Optics coatings. These coatings increase light transmission, reduce light loss for improved low light performance, and enhance color fidelity and image contrast. Complementing the optical performance is the Fast-Close-Focus system that allows users to focus from the 10' minimum distance to infinity in one turn so they can more quickly and easily react to changing circumstances without losing valuable time.

To withstand the rigors of constant use, the binocular's housing is made of impact and corrosion-resistant Makrolon polycarbonate. This material is also temperature-resistant to reduce expansion and contraction caused by wide temperature swings, which can cause the optical components to move out of collimation over time, preventing the ability to achieve crisp focus and sharp images. The housing is covered with gray NBR-Longlife rubber armoring which provides a soft feel in the hand yet provides protection against oil, acid, and saltwater while giving it a slip-resistant grip. To make it a truly outdoor optic, the housing is nitrogen filled for fogproof performance and O-ring sealed to make it fully waterproof.

10x26 P1026 Compact Binocular (Gray) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this, or get ripped-off on something else Purchased these optics for astronomy object location and checking out babes. Unit works excellent in both theaters of operation. When it comes to optics and electronics nobody beats the grandchildren of those Nazis or Imperial Japanese!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, clear optics, good buy. I was looking for something with a wider field of view but the name Steiner and a great price convinced me. Bright glass, solid build and a stylish/utilitarian design win the day.
