The Teradek VidiU Mini is an ultra-portable version of the original VidiU streaming device, offering the capability to stream an HDMI signal live to all RTMP platforms, such as Livestream and YouTube Live, over dual-band Wi-Fi, or to transmit your camera feed wirelessly to Teradek's Live:Air live production iPad/iPhone app, available to VidiU Mini users as a free download. The VidiU Mini does away with the Ethernet and USB modem ports available on the full-size VidiU, as well as with the audio and mic ports and LCD, to allow for the more compact size. It also features an upgrade in battery life to three hours.

To stream to RTMP destinations, the VidiU Mini must simply be connected to a Wi-Fi access point, and to transmit to Live:Air you have to connect to your iPad/iPhone hotspot. Live:Air works like a switcher, supporting up to four camera signal and also offering text and graphics overlay for a single feed. Two VidiU Minis can be connected to Live:Air and the feeds mixed with other live and pre-recorded material for a multi-cam production. The VidiU Mini supports resolutions from 360x200 mobile to Full HD 1080p30/25 and offers easy Bluetooth connectivity to your tablet or phone for selecting your steaming destination as well as resolution and other settings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this One of my worst decisions in 2015 is to buy the VidiU mini. I invested $ in a piece of useless material. I am live streaming events but there is no way I can relay on the mini. I wrote several times to Teradek, but no response till now. This was my first Teradek item and I am very, very disappointed.Absolutely do NOT buy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pay a little extra and buy the big brother Initial Setup seem good, but then: 1. Bluetooh connection is terrible 2. need to reset unit and setup from scratch if you try to connect to different wifi 3. easier to set up through a browser than the app but even then you need to reset as you won't know the ip address to login. 4. good if you use only your phone's hotspot or to a fixed WIFI dongle otherwise very troublesome and best to rest the system if you go to a different location every time. Perhaps a firmware update could fix the problems

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well if you plan well. There are four key stipulations to plan for for near flawless operation of the Vidiu Mini. 1. They take a long time to boot up. Be patient, start early. 2. Use a dedicated 5Ghz WiFi network that includes only the devices in your broadcast so you don't have to compete with other users.(there is just too much competition on the 2.4 Ghz band for it to be reliable in most venues even with a dedicated router) 3. The onboard battery needs either AC or brick battery support for longer streams. 4. Use well-made solid HDMI cables and have backups. We use a combo of 2-3 Vidiu Minis attached to Sony camcorders and a couple of iOS devices controlled by an iPad Air 2 using the Teradek Live:Air iOS app. We bring along an Apple Airport Extreme that is connected to the host venue internet network in bridge mode. That way we are on our own private network that does not have to compete for attention on the radio side of things. This offers solid throughput as long as we can keep the components within range. In larger venues we will bring additional Airports to use as extenders to expand the reach. By using our own router, the minis 'remember' the network and saves a lot of time adding them to the host app. The components don't care which venue we are in because the are familiar with the network being used. All-in-all, the Vidiu Mini can be a solid, affordable and compact solution if you plan well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult setup It works well once set up but it can be difficult to set up and finicky. The app is mediocre at best and could use a lot of refinement. I had difficulties connecting it to wifi and ended up giving up and streaming through my phones hotspot. The battery life is pretty poor, not nearly as long as stated. After about 20 minutes of streaming the battery life indicator dropped 2 bars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice on paper, Bad in usage. Not Reliable We own a vidiu Mini for a year now, and never managed to use it in a reliable way. It randomly won't connect to the Wifi, and the only solution is to completely reset the device every time. The user interface is slow and will gladly hang on when accessed by browser... The VIidu App on smartphone take ages to detect the vidiu. Worse part : there is not way to stream in HD nor FullHD with it, even on a 5G wifi with no one around, it will not be stable. Support is good at first then they dissapear... for a 500$ device this is a complete waste of money. Worse buying decision we made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product! The network connection is flakey! Lost connection for no reason. Had to return mine due to some sort of faulty board problem. Don't buy this product! I'm sorry that I did. B&H won't take it back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst equipment buying decisions Only sorry I can't give it zero stars. Won't connect stably to any of four different modems I tried, only the feedback on the app is so poor that diagnostics are impossible. So, yeah, app is an absolute piece of trash. I might find some way of making use of this. Have to because I'm stuck with it. I should have returned it immediately.
