Pyle Pro PMKS56 Reviews
Good for the price
This stand does not feel cheap and rickety for its price. It's an affordable option and it gets the job done well, especially for tall people using it as a normal stand to talk into. I can't get the boom quite as tight as I want it to be, but my AT2020 stays in place just fine. Overall, it's a good stand for its price. The build of it doesn't feel like it will break, and it works fine for my needs (condenser mic in a studio environment)
A great Tripod, but you pay for what you get.
Originally ordered 2 tripods to support placing high microphones to support recording Pipe organs, and large room audio. Received both tripods easily enough, but BOTH tripods had apparent manufacturing defects. One was missing a locking nut on the boom arm, and the other seemed to have the boom extension completely impacted on the bracer that controls the set screw to keep it in place. B&H was great, as usual, and was able to issue me a new one, and I was able to cobble together one tripod from the defective 2. All in all, they work great, but I find that the manufacturing makes for a cheap and easy solution if you're looking for a tall boom ready stand.
Big and sturdy
Very sturdy, wide base. Holds a heavy mic without sandbags if needed. Lots of options for setup.
A solid and tall stand
I bought this stand to mic drums overhead and also to record spoken word with a mic on a boom. It works great for both of those purposes, and I'm very happy with it.
Great product
Great product!
Low Price, Tall Stand, Short Boom
I bought a pair of these to hold drum overheads and occasionally to use during an interview for a boom mic (sitting or standing subject). The main advantage here is the height and relatively sturdy tripod base. The stand is also lightweight and easy to transport. The downside would be that the boom is regular length (30 inches or so). I'd give it five stars if it had a little longer boom arm. But for the price, it's hard to beat. I also have an On Stage tripod studio boom that's huge, heavy, and a lot more expensive. If I can help it, I'd rather use these Pyle Pro stands.
Nothing On The Market Better Then This...
I own 3 Pyle Pro PMKS56 Mic Stands... Only Mic Stand Available at this height... Well worth the money...
weak boom pivot
The boom pivot is very poorly designed so the boom can not be locked and will fall with anything other than a very light microphone. Going to contact the co. and ask for replacement on the booms. Stands are fine, but the booms are useless
