The cable does not send power, It only carries the signal or power sent over it. You need a device capable of sending power over ethernet (PoE).

Can this be ran through an attic?
Asked by: Nathaniel
This is a patch cable used to connect computers, printers, routers, etc within a room or office. A "plenum" rated cable has a special insulation that has smoke and low flame characteristics. It should be used in an attic or wall for safety.
