The Especial Tres Cycling Backpack from Timbuk2 is a stylish backpack capable of holding a 15" Macbook in its internal slip pocket. The main compartment features a roll-top flap closure for quick access, expandable volume, and additional weather protection. There is an internal organizer for keeping your smaller items neat, and a side zip pocket for easily locating accessories like your phone or wallet. The front panel unzips to accommodate bulky items and there are two side stretch pockets for water bottles or U-locks.

The backpack can be carried using either the adjustable shoulder straps or the carrying handle. The back panel and straps are ventilated to keep you cool during warmer days. Especial Tres Cycling Backpack (Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pack! I am a daily bike commuter - I take CalTrain and ride 12 miles each day to and from work. I use this bag because even if I am caught in a downpour me laptop and clothes will remain dry. I am a fan of this pack - it fits great, feels awesome when I am riding and holds everything I need. I am very confident that this pack will keep my things as I want them. My only complaint is that ease of access to my laptop. I have to un buckle, un velcro, and roll, move clothes to pull my laptop out. I wish there was a back or a special side entry point so I can easily slip in and out my laptop without messing with the bags contents. Othersie great product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed.... After Timbuk2 started having their bags made overseas, the quality has gone down. I had this bag for 2 months before it started falling apart and literally coming apart at the seams. I used it for commuting and was not too rough with it so I expected it to last much longer. The customer service team has been great with getting it repaired (it took forever though), but from here on out, unless I buy a custom bag that is still made in the US, I won't be buying Timbuk2 again. Which makes me super sad... :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the best bags for cycling It came as a little surprise when I opened the box to see that it was a much larger bag than I had thought, and it seemed as though it would be too bulky and heavy. However after using it on quick commutes on a nimble bicycle on the city streets, I'm finding its bulkiness as I ride, not that significant (provided it's not loaded heavily). It has many compartments, and quick-access zippers, making unrolling the top unnecessary at times. The fasteners at the top and around the waist fit comfortably and snug. It's also very light for a bag its size. The two side pockets can be accessed without having to take it off my shoulders. I was pleased after all, and I'm glad I purchased it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from "weatherproof" < waterproof I have the older version of this bag, but it doesn't look fundamentally changed. Mine was also advertised as "weatherproof," which I have discovered means "water resistant." I assume the "increased visibility" they now claim has to do with the reflective stuff they added, not the fact that it's difficult to look over your shoulder past the upper corners of the bag, even when it's all the way rolled down, making lane changes really dangerous. Even so, I've been riding with this thing every day for the past few years now and it hasn't fallen apart, so it has that going for it. When I bought it I had just hoped I could stop packing my change of clothes in plastic bags when I need to ride to work in the rain. For the price, one could do better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Massive So you don't realize how massive it is until you open it yourself. From the computer screen it didn't look all THAT big. But its massive. I love it so much for now and hope that it continues to deliver as well as it does now. The only "problem" is that the outer pocket gets pressed up against the outside so that I can't get into it, when the main compartment is full. One other small inconvenience, which isn't all that bad, is the presence of only one main compartment- since I need to carry multiple changes of clothing, when I change, its a little annoying to have to remove everything just to put dirty clothes at the bottom when if I could, just throw it into a divider inside the bag. Something like that. Otherwise, its all good for now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor materials quality, warranty, and customer service This is a great bag, but reliability and customer service issues prevent me from recommending it. The good This is a roomy bag, but it also cinches down in size when you don't need the full capacity. It features a large main pocket (with laptop sleeve), a front pocket with organizers, a small front pocket, and a document pocket, so it's easy to keep your items organized. In months of commuting in Seattle rain, it kept my stuff dry and secure. It's also incredibly comfortable to wear. I switched to this bag from a messenger bag, since a backpack was clearly going to be better for my shoulders and back. I love how messenger bags open up to make it easy to get things in and out and to find items inside. I ordered this bag in blue, and the combination of the large opening, organizing pockets, and red interior fabric made it easy to find and access items so that I didn't miss my messenger bag that much. The bad After just about six months, the mesh on the back of the bag wore away in parts (see photo) -- this damage was small but spreading. I contacted Timbuk2 for repair. I was originally (after a two week delay) told that this kind of damage is not covered by warranty. I appealed and they agreed (after another two weeks) to cover it. I sent the bag in for repair only to learn after six weeks that they could not complete the repair and were sending the damaged bag back. This is despite sending in photos of the damage with the initial warranty request. It's surprising that Timbuk2 was both (a) reluctant to stand behind their product and (b) unable to accurately assess whether they can repair it. In this case, it meant weeks of using an old bag while waiting for repairs, only to get a damaged bag back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for commuters who use a bike Got this backpack for my boyfriend as a christmas gift and he loves it. We live in Chicago and he rides his bike everywhere...he needed something lightweight and comfortable that could also fit everything he needs for a big day. I think on his most packed days he works at a research lab in the morning, then goes to work. On these days he is out and about for over 12 hours. He can fit his work clothes, a change of shoes, a water bottle, 3 full meals, folders, and other miscellaneous items with no probelm. The backpack is also very very water resistant due to its roll-top design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Rarely Give 5 Stars As mentioned above, I rarely give items 5 stars. This backpack is great. It is large, sturdy, and aesthetically pleasing. I find that the front pocket is a bit slim when the bag is full, but there is so much room in the main pocket that it does not affect the usefulness of the bag. I have used the bag for riding, hiking, and as a weekender and I have not been disappointed at all. Also, I placed a hydration bladder in the laptop pocket, guided the mouthpiece through the side entrance of the main pocket, and it works great! There are two nitpicks: (1) I believe this is mentioned by other reviewers, but the velcro on the roll top can catch onto fabrics as you place them in the bag and (2) my Camelbak Chute water bottle falls out of the water bottle pocket.
