Great flash, easy to use, and affordable! I'm still learning all the in's and out's of macro photography and having the right flash really helps.

A great product at an awesome price. I used it a few times and it was easy to use and worked well. However, over time the pressure of the spring loaded batteries on the battery door broke the battery cover and rendered the product useless. It did this while in its case not being used. Because of this, I cannot rate the product highly.

Manual mode ok; TTL isn't.

In fully manual mode, it seems like a fine enough flash. But if I'm buying a fully-manual flash, I don't think this is the one I'd buy. Overall build quality seems fine for the price. Minor complaint there is that the hot shoe doesn't lock in place correctly as reliably as I'd like. After installing I have to double check that everything is seated correctly or the flash won't fire. But ETTL mode doesn't seem to work properly. Close-up work (not even fully macro) seems to consistently underexpose by several stops. Exposure seems weirdly dependent on ISO value; raising the ISO value gets higher exposure, despite fully auto flash settings. I'm unclear whether this is a problem with the flash, or a combination of the flash and the camera (Canon EOS Rp).

ETT-L Settings

The setting for ETT-L need to be adjusted for distance from subject. I have the Yongnuo YN-24 and it is the same way. If you're 24 from subject, no compensation. I have to go between -3 to +2 for correct exposure. The background also make a difference.

Asked by: Scott
It works with the Canon EOS R5. But of course, not being a Canon speed light, you cannot adjust it from in camera, you have to adjust it on the back of the light.
