question
I own this and on the A7Rii it says that Eye AF feature is not possible on this lens. Since it's a native mount lens made by Sony, I am confused. Shouldn't Eye AF work?
I have the lens and the eye focusing works fine on my A7ii. But like the previous poster noted, I have the function assigned to one of my buttons.

What are your thoughts between the Sony Distagon ...
What are your thoughts between the Sony Distagon T* FE 35MM f/1.4 [SEL35F14Z] versus Sony - 35mm f/1.8 FE [SEL35F18F]. Money is not an issue but I still can't decide?
There is only 2/3 of a stop difference in the maximum apertures of these lenses and they would both be very sharp. One might choose the Sony Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA Lens if they are shooting more video being that the lens offers a de-clicked aperture ring, while someone looking to spend less but needs the low light performance might choose the FE 35mm f/1.8 instead.

question
What are it's advantages over the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM bound with a Metabones IV (witch I do 'already have, with latest firmware) - if we do the abstraction of price and that it's more elegant to not have to do with adapters..)? :Is the Bokhe and softer f1.4 til f2.8 a real advantage for portraits, has it better 3D effect over the latest Canon ?
The main advantage of using this lens over a Canon with an adapter is simply that this is a native Sony E-Mount lens. Adapters are very nice and have come a long way, but they still are not flawless. You will get a perfect performance as far as control of the lens and auto focus when using a native lens. This also happens to be a Zeiss Distagon T* lens, which is a very beautiful and high quality lens.

question
Can someone recommend a good protective filter for this lens?
The B+W 72mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter would be recommended. This is very well made with excellent quality glass. http://bhpho.to/2flTRdU
