Well, sometimes good, sometimes not so good

I'm using this lens on the Sony ILCE-7M4 (aka 7IV) body, and it's a real mixed bag. I'm comparing its performance to my beloved Tamron 16-300 for conventional DSLR, what a great, dependable workhorse that lens is, but not for Sony full-frame.
The Sony 24-240 lens on that body was terrific at a powwow, inside a field house in spite of multiple different types of harsh lighting, lots of shadows, motion, etc.
I had also hoped to use it as a landscape lens. I have no idea what to do about the obvious vignetting. Scenic taken at 1/640, f16, 240 mm extension (all the way out), not edited except to down-size.
Any ideas for a different lens for Sony full-frame that has such a versatile zoom range?
Zoom Ring is TOO Tight

The optical features of this lens are good. For photography everything is OK, but for video the zoom ring is too tight. I was thinking that my copy is defective, visited the store and found out that even the copy on display has the same very tight zoom. I was told that it is going to become easier after some time. 1 month was not enough to see any difference. I bought a focusing ring lever on Amazon and even this did not help.
If you are planning to use it for video do not expect any smooth zooming with this lens.
Get vignetting at 24mm

I really like this lens. It has a great range and sharpness. It does not creep. But, it does give me a vignette at all F stops at 24mm. I even tried it without any filter, or lens hood and still got a vignette.

I have purchased 3 of these lenses. I use them for two-camera shoots as well as for everyday good-to-go lenses. A bit less sharp on the edges, but coupled with the a1, well it does what I would expect and I am very satisfied. Not a G-lens, but good results.

This lens is a great all around go to. Covers all the focal lengths I usually need and so far looks very sharp across the frame and at all focal lengths.
This is great for a base lens.

I use this lens as a Base Lens on a Sony a7III & a Sony a7RIII. Why is it good for both, with Mirrorless Cameras you can get a lot more dust & air fragments in the camera when you change a lens. I feel you may need to get the camera cleaned every 6 months, especially if you change lines out in the field taking pictures. The Sony 24-240mm Lens is great for not having to change a lens in the field taking pictures. It is sharp enough, is a great wide angle and very telephoto (especially if you use a 2 power Digital Zoom in a Sony camera that's 480mm)! If you doing deliver me look at the reviews on the internet.

If you can't get sharp images with this lens, you are doing something wrong. In terms of optical quality, it's not in the same league as a 70-200mm f2.8 EF USM IS II Canon lens, but what you get at this price is amazing. This lens is capable enough to shoot weddings and portraiture. For a quick grab-and-go setup, you cannot go wrong here.
