Pacsafe W200 overview

  • 1Description

The rosemary RFIDsafe W200 RFID-Blocking Travel Wallet from Pacsafe is designed not only to hold travel essentials such as a passport, itinerary, or cash, it also provides a generous amount of space for credit cards and debit cards while protecting any such items with an embedded Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip from being accessed by an unauthorized RFID reader.

Some credit or debit card designs now feature an RFID chip that stores the personal and financial data typically associated with any credit or debit card and allows that information to be easily accessed by a specialized radio transmitter. In a retail setting, this can help make shopping more convenient by simplifying and speeding up the check-out process. Similarly, many passport designs also feature an RFID chip that stores the passport holder's image, name, nationality, gender, date of birth, and place of birth. That RFID chip also allows that information to be accessed by a radio transmitter and is intended to improve passport security by making it more difficult to tamper with or forge passports.

Unfortunately, identity thieves in possession of a transmitter that is capable of broadcasting and receiving an RFID signal may read and record your credit card, debit card, or passport's information without your knowledge.

To prevent this type of identity theft, this RFID-blocking wallet provides a way to store and carry your travel essentials and payment cards while preventing RFID signals from reaching them. The walls of the wallet feature a copper-nickel weave that prevents electromagnetic radiation, including radio waves, from reaching its contents.

The accordion-style RFIDsafe W200 RFID-Blocking Travel Wallet opens to reveal three main compartments. The two compartments closest to each side of the wallet feature a pocket that can hold currency. In front of each of those pockets are four card slots, for a total of eight. The center main compartment is divided from the side compartments on both sides by additional pockets. One of them is an open mesh passport pocket, while the other is a zippered pocket to further secure any items placed within the RFIDsafe W200 RFID-Blocking Travel Wallet. A zippered coin pocket is featured on the outside of the wallet, and a detachable strap is also provided that can be secured around one's wrist or clipped to a key ring on or within a bag.
