Carbon Camera Covering Material (Gray) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, and easy to put on or off I've used this line of protective covering material (in black) on my cameras in the past, so I'm familiar with it. I often put it on areas of potential wear, such as the area above the strap lugs on Leica M cameras (those that don't have the strap wear protectors on them, such as the M1, M2, M3, M4, M4-2, M4-P, M5). Good also for hiding the logos of said expensive cameras. In this case I specifically wanted white for one reason: to stop hot spots on my bulb flash units. I bought a couple of Heiland Synchro Special flash units from the 1940s and 1950s. Their reflectors seem to be designed for the large Mazda base (household light bulb screw base) bulbs. With the smaller bayonet bulbs such as the M3, there is a pronounced hot spot. So, I bought this, cut it to shape to cover the area of the shiny chrome reflector center, which was creating the hot spot. This material is thicker than the material used for the black coverings, and more durable. It's a little less flexible due to that. However, it resists the heat of the flash bulbs quite well. It has not peeled or discolored. If I don't want it on my reflector, it peels off cleanly, without residue. You probably will never buy this for my purpose, but for sheer camera protection, it's almost as good as a case.
