What generation Pelican 1910 series flashlight is ...

What generation Pelican 1910 series flashlight is this, Gen-1, Gen-2, or Gen-3? And no, the "B" at the end of 1910B doesn't answer this as far as I know. This looks like a pre-c.2017 Gen-1 model because of the low light output specification of 72/14 lumens versus 106/21 lumens of the latter generation lights. I seem to remember the Gen-2 lights at 106/21 lumens were brighter but just as efficient (similar battery life). However there was a problem with some of the Gen-2 lights where they would turn on and/or off randomly by themselves. Then it seems there is what some sellers are calling the Gen-3 lights that supposedly fixes these random on/off problems. There is a lot of lore and mis-information out there when it comes to EDC flashlights - so take all this with a grain of salt. What I can confirm however is that relatively recent reviews (within a year or so) of these flashlights on YouTube show the specification on the box as 106/21 lumens, not 72/14 lumens as specified here on B&H. For example: https://youtu.be/MraFv8nfYGA?t=161 What have you to say about this B&H? I await yor reply. There's around 22 hours left on "Today's Deal" at my post time.... Thanks, David in Florida

LOL! David gave B&H an ultimatum. Hey David - Buy the light. If you don’t like it, simply return it. I’m sure your rant took longer to write than returning the light would take. B&H has a fantastic return policy.

Follow-up to my question: Even the Pelican Web site for the 1910 series flashlights lists the luminous flux levels as 106/21 lumens, not 72/14 lumens as specified here on B&H. See here: https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/flashlights/1910 Again, what's up with this B&H? Thanks, David

question

Why are the color flashlights ten dollars more than the black flashlight when theyre the same 1910 model?
Asked by: David O.
Pricing can cary by color based on how many we sell. Often times if we can order a larger batch of one item we can offer a better pricing.
