Can you use exposure compensation when shooting video? I have a Canon SX710HS, and my biggest complaint with that model is that video is always over exposed and there is no adjustment.
If you set the mode button to AUTO, the video you shoot should be correctly exposed. If not, your camera may need servicing.

The above answer would depend on the write speed of the memory card you use. The faster the memory card's write speed, the quicker the camera will recover. However, Canon does not list the buffer size of the Canon PowerShot SX530 HS Digital Camera, and I am not sure how many images will fill the buffer, nor the time it will take to fully write the images to the memory card. As such, I would simply recommend to purchase the fastest UHS-I memory card within your budget for the quickest performance.
