The OPTX2 RF Optix Diversity Fiber-Optic Remote-Antenna Distribution System by RF VENUE is for extending the indoor remote antennas of a diversity wireless system over a long distance. It can be used to run dual antenna cables up to 0.62 miles (1 km) in length, with almost no amplitude loss, in RF applications for theaters, live stages, houses of worship, school auditoriums, town halls, and more. It eliminates the need for fragile and lesser-quality coaxial cable by converting an RF signal into light.

The RF Optix features two transmitters that connect to two radio antennas. The transmitter module converts radio frequencies to light, then sends it down a fiber-optic cable connected to a receiver module on the other end. The receiver then converts the signal back to a radio frequency and outputs it to a copper coaxial cable for any distribution system or wireless receiver. It is also useful for engineers who need to locate wireless equipment down a hall or across a building without budgeting for expensive plenum-rated coaxial cable. Fiber-optic cables and mounting hardware are sold separately; however, two 9V power supplies and four 10' BNC to SMA cables are included.
