Access vital information at a glance with the white VUZIX M100 Heads-Up Display. These glasses put an Android-based wearable computer display in front of your dominant eye, allowing you to make calls, take photos and videos, and use smartphone apps all without reaching for your smartphone. It has a 1.2 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, as well as 4GB of flash storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB via the microSDHC slot.
The M100 can connect to Android and iOS smartphones over Bluetooth and can access the Internet via its built-in Wi-Fi connection. It has GPS and head tracking support and has a single ear speaker. It includes an external battery pack to supplement its own internal battery, glasses with left and right adapters, left and right earphone caps, a carrying case, and a micro-USB cable.
Your M100's 400 x 240 full-color display appears to float in or near your line of sight and provides the visual equivalent to a 4" smartphone held 14 inches away from your eye. You can adjust the angle and position of the display to suit your own preferences, and a display shield helps to prevent glare in bright sunlight.
The glasses incorporate a White Pearl display module and ultra-low-power driver IC, both from Kopin.
The M100's built-in camera shoots photos and video from eye level. It captures 5 MP stills and full HD 1080p video with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a pair of microphones provide audio recording and voice input with noise cancelation. You can store your content in the expandable onboard memory or stream it live.
Four Control Modes
Four control buttons built in to the M100
Traditional smartphone software interface, running remotely on a Bluetooth-paired device
Hands-free Nuance voice navigation, performed locally with no need for an internet connection
Gesture control, which detects hand motions performed in close proximity to the M100's gesture sensor
The M100 can operate in any one of three modes, with or without an active Internet connection: In Local mode, applications are loaded onto and run directly on the M100 using its onboard processor and memory. HUD mode utilizes apps loaded and run on a Bluetooth-paired device, with the M100 serving as a Heads Up Display. Collaborative mode employs both the M100 and a paired device. Applications written specifically for this operating mode are able to communicate and collaborate with each other.
Head Tracking and GPS
Built-in GPS provides apps with your location, and integrated head tracking can transmit the angle and direction of your current view for enhanced situational awareness.
Connect to your smartphone's mobile internet connection via Bluetooth 4.0 or your home or office network via 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.
The M100 is compatible with thousands of existing apps, and the M100 SDK allows developers to create and customize even more apps. Pre-installed apps include:
Audio Recorder lets you record voice notes and other sounds around you
Calendar syncs with your connected device and displays your schedule
Camera shoots photos and videos
Clock includes a stopwatch and a timer
Contacts syncs with your connected device and lets you find contacts, then call, email, text message, and more
Gallery manages your photos and videos and allows you to transfer them to a connected device and share them via social media
Scanner reads bar codes and QR codes
Your M100 can run off its own internal battery, off an outlet or external battery via the micro-USB to USB cable, or the included 3800mAh rechargeable battery pack. The pack connects to your M100 via a thin micro-USB cable, increasing runtime by up to 6.5 times over the M100 alone. This allows for up to 39 hours of screen-off use, 13 hours with the display on, and 6.5 hours with the display on, the camera running, and high CPU loading.
