Canon 5D Mark III Overview

Comprising the essential components needed to capture and print high-resolution photographs, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera with 24-70mm Lens and PIXMA PRO-100 Printer Kit from B&H includes the advanced full-frame DSLR, versatile zoom lens, and a wireless inkjet printer. Additionally, a 32GB SDHC memory card, padded shoulder bag, spare rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and a 50-sheet pack of 13 x 19" photo paper is also included to help you begin shooting and printing.

The 5D Mark III features a 22.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5+ image processor to enable up to 6 fps continuous shooting and full HD 1080p video recording with an expandable sensitivity range to ISO 102400. Benefitting the imaging performance is a 61-point High Density Reticular AF system, which includes 5 central dual cross-type points and 41 other cross-type points for refined precision and speed when working in difficult lighting conditions and with moving subjects. In addition to a large 0.71x magnification pentaprism viewfinder, a 3.2" 1,040k-dot ClearView II LCD screen is also available for bright live view monitoring and image playback. Additionally, the 5D Mark III also features dual CF and SD memory card slots within the weather-resistant magnesium alloy body construction.

Included with the camera body is the EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM lens, which covers wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives to suit working in a variety of shooting conditions. A Hybrid Image Stabilizer helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops while a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor realizes quick, quiet AF performance. The lens construction includes two UD glass elements and two aspherical elements to reduce aberrations throughout the zoom range and contribute to high image sharpness and clarity.

Additionally, also included within this kit is the PIXMA PRO-100 wireless inkjet printer, which prints up to 4800 x 2400 dpi and supports media up to 13 x 19". An eight-color ink system realizes true color rendition and incorporates three monochrome inks for enhanced density and black and white printing capabilities.

question

what is the camera good for? portrait, action, or landscapes
Asked by: a b.
I have literally taken thousands of photos since I got the camera. All with the 24-105 F4L lens! I did a lot of candid shots on a trip to Wash. D.C. of family and sites visited. I made panoramic shots at the WW II Memorial and the reflection pool. I got great shots inside the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. On the way home, I did photos of scenic farmland, cows, silos, great old farm house, etc., hand-held from the passenger side seat while travelling at 75 mph! 90+ % were sharp because it was overcast/light occasional ran, and I could crank up the ISO with very low noise! I have gone with friends to two different Indian Mounds (parks), old water mill, and other places. I have used a tripod and monopod successfully. It has amazed and delighted me so far. I like the full-size sensor, resolution, and color accuracy under various lighting conditions. Very adaptable on-the-go!

question

if i were using a tamron 150-600 v2 lens with this camera and videoing surfers from land, how would i keep the surfer in focus? will it track the surfer automatically? will i have to half press down the shutter button every few seconds to readjust the focus or just do it manually?
Asked by: max r.
I havent used my camera for taking video, although I have used to click pics of birds, and for bird in flight photography, I would have to keep tracking the bird while clicking pics. There is an option to configure one of the back buttons for focusing. Google for back button focusing, and there are videos to teach how to setup back button focusing, with this you can press and hold the back button for focusing. Hope this helps .
