Formatt Hitech HTMK6752 overview

  • 1Description

Designed to address photographing in a wide variety of scenes, this Formatt-Hitech 67mm Ken Kaminesky Signature Edition Master Filter Kit is an all-in-one bundle containing three 67mm-wide solid neutral density filters, two soft-edge graduated neutral density filters, and a 77mm circular polarizer filter, along with the 67mm Aluminum Filter Holder and an adapter ring for attaching the holder to lenses with 52mm filter threads. Additionally, also included in this kit is a polarizer filter adapter ring, a pair of protective filter pouches, and an exclusive Ken Kaminesky booklet, which offers inspiration and insight into his photography.

ProStop IRND
The included ProStop IRND 3.0, 1.8, and 0.9 filters are solid neutral density filters providing 10, 6, and 3 stop reductions in exposure, respectively. The consistent density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or longer shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

The ProStop IRND filters have been optimized for use with digital sensors and promote nearly flat attenuation of both visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. This filter provides a high level of neutrality across both spectra in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks.
Graduated Neutral Density
The included Soft-Edge Graduated ND 0.9 and 0.6 filters help to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. These filters are densest at the edge and taper to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the density and clear areas for working in situations where there is not a distinct line of separation between the bright and dark zones of the image.
Circular Polarizer
The included Firecrest SuperSlim circular polarizer helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. This filter is constructed from Schott Superwite optical glass for maintained image quality and is set in a 7.5mm-thick aluminum filter ring, which features front threads for stacking additional filters.

Additional Kit Components

Filter Holder and Adapter Rings
The included 67mm Aluminum Modular Filter Holder accepts up to three filters at once, but can be modified to accept differing numbers of filters through the use of optional spacers and screws depending on personal needs. It attaches to the lens through the use of the included 52mm Adapter Ring. Additionally, a dedicated adapter ring for connecting the polarizer filter to the holder is also included.
Filter Pouches
A pair of pouches are included to protect your filters during travel and storage.
Ken Kaminesky Photography Booklet
Besides the filters and holder included in the kit, a booklet of Ken Kaminesky's work is also included for inspiration and a closer look at how he utilizes this system of filters for his own photography.
