    QNAP VS-2208-PRO+-US reviews

    VS-2208 PRO+ VioStor 8-Channel 1080p NVR is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior functionality & compatibility When I first setup this unit I figured I could do it all over the network instead of plugging in the HDMI and initializing it locally. Not the case. I had to use the HDMI and USB for mouse & keyboard to get it going. Once it was all setup THEN I could go strictly over the network to access. It requires some technical know-how but it's really intuitive and used friendly. I have 5 IP cameras setup to record based on motion. The cameras are D-Link and I can access them through D-Link's app, but for recoding long-term and accessing the video remotely I had to buy this unit. D-Link NVR's have inferior hardware and mediocre user reviews. If you're going to setup a security surveillance system you should buy something that works. This fits the bill perfectly. I have 2 mirrored 4 TB hard drives, working great so far. For remote access I find Qfile and Qmonitor to be the most helpful. The quality of video recodings is outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great NVR for home surveillance. Great support from B&H. I am using the VS-2208 PRO+ as the backbone of my new home video surveillance system. I have 2, 2 TB drives installed in RAID 1 configuration. I tried out multiple IP cameras in various exterior locations, and I settled on multiple Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-IWS in various focal lengths. First of all, the assistance I received from B&H was extremely helpful. Sales and support staff were very knowledgeable about various products and gave great advice. Also, when I bought a camera that ended up not working well for my application, B&H allowed me to return it with no hassles and no re-stocking fee. I've been buying from B&H for several years, and they will continue to be my first choice whenever possible. I researched several NVRs (and even bought a cheaper one from a surveillance company that I eventually returned). I chose the QNAP because QNAP does not sell their own cameras. As such, they are compatible with almost everything out there. I kept it because it has a truckload of amazing features, it has a very easy to use user-interface, and I can monitor the video from everywhere (PCs with any kind of browser, tablets, cell phones, etc). Again, it is compatible with almost everything. Very, very impressive product. QNAP also has great telephone support. So far, the only thing I would like better would be a little easier user-interface for viewing recorded video.
