Livestream Broadcaster Pro overview

  • 1Description

The Livestream Broadcaster Pro allows you to stream live from the field with nearly any HDMI camera. It takes your camera's HDMI output, encodes it as H.264 video, and streams up to 1080p over to the Livestream cloud service platform for viewing on mobile devices, any web browser, or a Roku-connected TVs. The Broadcaster Pro can be setup and fully controlled using the free Livestream app for iOS and Android devices. The app also allows your phone to function as a video monitor, letting you preview exactly what you're streaming. Alternatively, an OLED status display and front panel buttons allow you to operate the device directly.

The HDMI port is standard-size, in many cases negating the need for an adapter. There is also a 3.5mm stereo audio input so that you can capture a secondary audio source along with, or in place of, the HDMI embedded audio. A headphone output is also included so you can monitor audio with confidence. For connection to the Internet, you are spoiled for choice. Where an access point is nearby, you can simply hard-wire the Broadcaster Pro with Ethernet. Alternatively, you can use 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi to connect to a wireless network. For use in the field, there is a USB port allowing you to connect a separately available 4G LTE modem, enabling true mobility.

The Broadcaster Pro powers from an internal battery expected to last over 3 hours. Additionally, there is a power adapter included for chagrining or powering from a wall outlet.

    Livestream Broadcaster Pro reviews

Broadcaster Pro is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small item, Big solution We use the Broadcaster Pro to stream video of events like high school commencement ceremonies, parades, etc. Obviously, the stronger your internet signal is, the better/more reliable the feed will be. The menu is a little funky to navigate at first, but once you know where all of the items are placed it becomes easier. The one downside is that you have to pay a substantial monthly/annual fee if you would like to host the feed on a site other than the Livestream site. But, for the price of the device and the solution that it provides for streaming high quality video, it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for YouTube I thought I read somewhere that this can be used for YouTube live also but I guess I was mistaken. I called Livestream support to inquire about YouTube streaming but the unfriendly guy's brusque reply made it easy for me to look elsewhere. Returned and bought Teradec VidiU.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great LITTLE box for live streaming I operate a local news website and want to offer live streams to the viewing public when big news breaks. In a small town that's usually a fire or the weather. I bought the Livestream Broadcaster Pro hoping to leave the laptop behind and truly go mobile. After a couple weeks of use it lives up to my hopes. Some what disappointing in the battery life. My first full charge lasted a little over an hour ( not the 3 hours stated)...which is about the same as my camera without plugging into an outlet, so it's kind of a draw on that. The Broadcaster Pro has the AC option which is a must for longer broadcast. One other thing I can note is once you turn the Broadcaster Pro on, it goes through a short setup, about 30 seconds, then when you try to connect to wireless, it does not recognize any until you turn off the device and back on again. Second time seems to be a winner, just a little time consuming. Have not tried the Ethernet port connection. I've been told it is better due to instability of wireless. But like I said, I want to be mobile and the Broadcaster Pro has allowed me to travel more lite and get the job done. Once It is streaming I have had no issues. Works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product this stream box is very easy to use. It sniffs out wireless and ethernet signals very easily. I little of a learning curve. But, if you follow directions and listen to the prompts from the red box, it streams rather well. If you have a slow upload speed, you may want to run the box on a lower quality. Test the different quality ranges on the box to see how the video reacts when viewing it on your computer. I did have a problem with one of these boxes a few years ago. But, the firmware was not up to date. The box does hook up to your phones wifi. This makes it pretty nice to stream live in the middle of nowhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You must pay extra on top of this to use Livestream Actually this box works great. And when you had the option to use the free plan with Livestream, even better. But now they require you have a paid subscription plan. So, I would go with Teradeck, since it's the same box essentially and has more flexibility.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good but not easy to configure the configuration rely on the tiny joystick which is difficult to operate. also to start the streaming was not straight forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Livestream Broadcaster Pro, the best of the best We bought 2 of those units and mix with the new BlackMagic Micro Studio 4K, its a very high quality product 100% recommend

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old Version Streams Better Purchased this to upgrade my current Livestream Broadcaster. The new model streams in 1080, my older model streamed in 720p. The Broadcaster Pro is a far better and improved product, but if you don't have fast internet upload speed then its not going to stream well. I have 60 down and 10 up on my internet speed. You need about 10 up to stream smoothly in 720p with the older version Broadcaster. Unfortunately, the Broadcaster Pro needs a faster internet upload speed to smoothly stream in 1080p. So, I had to return it and go back to using my older Broadcaster, because it streams in 720p flawlessly, everytime. I would suspect you need an internet upload speed of at least 50 to have the Broadcaster Pro stream smoothly in 1080p. Keep this in mind before ordering and run a speed test on your internet service to see if your internet speed can handle the Broadcaster Pro.
