GSM / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can't get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Note: Not compatible with all cellular networks. Please make sure your provider uses a frequency or band that this phone supports. You can check which bands this phone works with in the Specifications.
    Android 5.0 Lollipop
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google's web search. It's a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your homescreen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to more than one million apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 5.0 Lollipop introduces Google's "Material Design" language and sees a complete overhaul of the look and feel of the OS. Other improvements include an updated notification system, more useful multitasking (now called "Recents"), multi-user support, and a Battery Saver mode.
    Intuitive Design
The ZenFone 2 was built with the user in mind. Its design incorporates an intuitive control layout, ergonomic arc structure, thin 3.9mm edges, and a 72% screen-to-body ratio. NCVM molding techniques helped achieve the ZenFone 2's metallic look and solid grip, while reducing its overall weight. Despite its slim profile and design, the ZenFone 2 still comes equipped with a full array of access ports and features dual SIM capability.
    BoostMaster Technology
ASUS BoostMaster Technology is designed to charge you ZenFone 2 at faster than normal speeds—up to 60% in 39 minutes. Coupled with ZenFone 2's large 3000mAh battery, you'll get more power, faster.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead On Arrival I was so excited to get this phone, but unfortunately, the device I received refused to charge/turn on straight out of the box. The LED light does not turn on, even after trying multiple chargers. After researching some solutions, I found this is a common issue with these phones and may be due to a software issue. It sounds like an update may help, but that's only if you can get the phone to power on. After trying all the tips, nothing worked - so I am returning today after three days of attempting to get my new phone to work. I am really bummed out - the phone sounds like everything I wanted, but I am not willing to risk future issues with another one. Just be aware that you may run into similar problems if you allow your device to die completely, or when connecting to a laptop via USB.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from review update The phone is still a good deal, but don't expect any customer service or warranty repair if you need it. Basically, normal wear and tear from daily usage qualifies as voiding your warranty. Asus uses the much-despised repair facility Pegatron, which happens to be located in my hometown. I actually walked in their door to see if I could drop off my phone, have them see if my cosmetic damage voided my warranty, etc. They were as responsive as a corpse, directing me only to Asus' customer service phone number.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waited a long time to buy a new phone and dont regret it! The Asus Zenphone2 is hands down the fastest and snappiest phone I've used. I'm a Network Admin by day and play with lots of phones. The Camera is amazing to be honest and rivals iPhones and Galaxies all day. Intel cpu and 4 gb of ram? Can't beat it for the price. The battery can technically last you all day but if you are a real heavy user (cant get off your phone), you will have to charge it. For normal users, it will be fine. The ZenUI works as it should and personally, I like it. It's clean and has all the basic apps/tools you need on a phone. If you are looking for a new Android phone, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy I have had this phone exchanged straight after I received it as it was heating up to much. Now after using it for 4 months, I have a problem with charging the battery. I wish I would have returned it straight away at the first place. I'm not happy with this phone quality at all. I mainly purchased it as it has two sim slots & meant to have a good camera. However the camera is also not functioning well. Very slow and often results blurry images. Contacted Asus and since I have moved overseas they told me to go to their local agent and there might be charges applicable. I contacted the local agent they told me to go back to the retailer...the retailer said to contact Asus.Never buy anything Asus ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Phone My wife decided to join this century and step up to a smart phone. We already have an android tablet , so I wanted to stick with Android ( plus it is better than IOS). The only phone that can come close to this phone is the OnePlus One. IT is supper responsive thanks to the 4gb of Ram. We have had no problem with any apps not working due to the Intel processor. My wife is not a heavy user of her phone and it does eat battery a little more than it should, but with the latest firmware update it has gotten better. In short I would highly recommend this phone. For $ it is a steal. IS it better than a Nexus 6 or LG G4? No it is not, but it cost a fraction of what those devices cost and will hang right there with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Value, Incredibly affordable Asus didn't completely hit it out of the park with the Zenphone 2. It more closely resembles an inside-the-park homerun, which I'll explain at the conclusion. The pros: 1. Ambidextrous design The power button located center-top and the rocker for volume is located back-center-upper. The idea was to make the phone equally easy for lefties as for righties. If you're left handed you will particularly appreciate that the designers didn't ignore you. (But more about that power button later.) 2. The Feel The curve of the body fits well in the hand and it's neither too light nor too heavy. It feels right. I ditched a ZTE Zmax phone because it was too flat and felt uncomfortable. And in my experience, all else being equal, the flatter the phone, the greater the risk of it sliding out of your hands, though this can be negated by a comfortable, grippy case. 3. The Speed This phone is lightning fast. The combination of CPU (Quad-core 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580), RAM (4GB) and GPU (PowerVR G6430) is better than anticipated and I anticipated it would be excellent. It opens apps rapidly, allows you to move around the device with ease and with virtually no lag. But I discovered another remarkable contributor to its speed. This phone has a groundbreaking 60 milliseconds touch response time, meaning it reacts faster to your fingers on the screen. Clearly, Asus paid great attention to the details for speed and it shows. You can actually see and feel the difference. And lest I forget that Intel CPU is a more powerful 64 bit iteration. 4. The Screen Finished with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 3, the 5 1080x1920 screen can be manually color adjusted, or for convenience there's a simple vivid setting which makes the color saturation considerably deeper. No, it's not 4K resolution, but really folks, at standard phone reading distance human eyes (young ones in excellent shape at that) can detect a difference up to about 450 pixels per inch, so at 403 ppi you haven't lost much here. And if your eyes aren't young and/or perfect, you're probably giving up nothing. It's on larger screens that 4K becomes far more important. Brightness is adequate for outdoor use and there's an auto-brightness setting so you don't have to fumble when heading outdoors. 5. Dual SIM slots These allow for the classic 2-in-1 arrangement one phone serving two lines. You can have your personal line on one SIM card, and your business line on the other - or a domestic line on one SIM and a foreign travel line on the other SIM. One couple told me that when they travel, they take just one phone equipped with their two SIM cards. You may never use two SIM cards, but both slots are there should you need them. 6. Internal Storage 64 GB of internal memory will mitigate the need to add an external card for some users, though a microSD slot is provided. Asus says you can add up to 64GB but users are reporting deploying 128GB cards with no issues. 6. The Camera The f/2.0 autofocus camera deploys a Toshiba sensor and Asus has really devoted a great deal of effort to a huge variety of available settings. The camera is quick and my favorite feature is the dual flash, which provides better and more realistic color quality. At 13 megapixels the rear camera compares well to most upper end phones except for the true top of the line flagships, which have 16 to 20 megapixels. The front camera has a journeyman's 5 megapixels. 7. Charging System The special charging system included with the phone is quite rapid, rated at a 60% charge in 39 minutes. Considering the battery's 3000mAh capacity, the charging speed is admirable. This is done by sort of super-charging the power of the USB connector. 8. The Wireless The Zenphone 2 includes dual band (2.4Mhz and 5Mhz) AC wireless in addition to the b/g/n bands. This affords very fast downloads and web pages render lickety-split. The phone can also be used as a hotspot to share your LTE Internet connection with other devices, such as connecting your laptop when no wifi is available. 9. Shortcuts There are a few gesture shortcuts that are fun, easy and convenient. For example, stroking a large C on the screen instantly deploys the camera, which is great when you need quick access. 10. Updates Likely because of their culture of updating computer motherboard bios, Asus has already provided at least two system updates. One could expect more updates in the future, and likely more frequently than competitors. 11. The Looks Asus also opted to make an impression, well, more of a statement, with color choices to match varied personalities. For the conservative user there's black (*yawn*) and a cool glacier gray. For the bolder among us there's a gold and a stunning ruby red. The backs are plastic, but the brushed finish invokes a metal look. The neutral: There are a great many iterations of the Zenphone 2. The various models span two different processors, three different internal memory capacities (16, 32 and 64), two different RAM options (2GB and 4GB) and even two different screen types (720 and 1080). B&H has removed much of the guesswork by carrying only two basic variants (except for color). This simplifies matters immensely. The 16GB versions have the basic CPU and 2GB of RAM. The 64GB versions have the faster CPU and 4GB of RAM. That's it. Both have the 1080 screens. Makes choosing a lot easier. I opted for the 64GB version and a 16GB for my girlfriend. The cons: 1. Power Button While I don't mind the location of the power button, it does not extend outward enough to easily turn on and off with one hand. However, Asus provides a very cool alternative. Remember the clapper (clap on, clap off)? On the Zenphone 2 you just tap the screen twice and it's on. Another two taps and it's off. Well, really it's in sleep mode, but you'll only need the power button to completely power down. 2. B L O A T W A R E This phone has so much bloatware it should ship with a bottle of Pamprin. Seriously, the biggest objection to Android phones is the massive quantity of apps that are pre-installed. In this case it seems Asus' intent was a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, though most of us would see that as a dubious, if not laughable, honor. Some of the apps can be fully uninstalled, but you have to go through them individually to see which can and which can't. (Four star award for time wasting.) There's an app to disallow apps at start-up. It doesn't always work properly, but I'm pretty sure they'll come up with an app to override it. Sheesh! Note to Industry: ENOUGH ALREADY! LET US SELECT OUR OWN APPS! (Or at least have a setting to make your choices disappear by uninstalling with one click.) 2. Battery Battery life is average at best for a 3000mAH, likely due to two factors. First, all that bloatware consumes mass quantities of electrons. The second culprit is the Lollipop 5.0 operating system. Many phones that originally shipped with KitKat encountered reduced battery life when upgraded to Lollipop. This has been widely reported and it doesn't seem to matter what device or brand it's on. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future Android update. Also, the battery is not removable, a pet peeve of mine. 3. No HD Voice or Wifi Calling As with almost all unlocked-out-of-the-gate phones, there is no HD voice or wifi calling, but that's a small price to pay for the flexibility of owning a device that will work on several carriers' networks especially one in this price range and as feature-packed as the Zenphone. Sadly, it wouldn't take much to add these features to the manufacture of unlocked phones and I'm pretty sure that's just over the horizon, but for now *sigh* 4. Design Flaw I discovered the hard way that this phone will not communicate with a PC through a USB 3.0 port. It does just fine with a USB 2.0 port. I've reported this to Asus and hopefully they'll fix it. Summary: I would encourage you to watch YouTube reviews. Reviewers commonly compare the Zenphone 2 to flagship phones at twice the price or more. The reason is simple: There's so little serious competition in this price range. Yes, the reviewers inevitably find a couple of things about which to complain (that's their job), but invariably they summarize by marveling at the fact that these phone are only $299 ($199 for the 16GB version). You can buy two or more of these for the price of a single flagship phone. And you're not sacrificing much. Dollar for dollar, this is one of the best if not THE best $300 phone you will find. Think of it this way You're getting roughly 95% of a flagship phone for less than half the cost. So, back to that baseball metaphor at the opening the inside-the-park homer is a more rare combination of a perfectly placed hit combined with blazing running speed, which pretty well sums up the Zenphone 2. Hope that helps

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent phone with unbeleivable low price! ZenFone 2 is not just a smart phone - it is a laptop in a pocket. With Intel Atom Quadcore CPU and 4 GB memory it is exactly that. Very powerfull and with a contemporary design. The 13 MP camera is coming with many features, which normally are available on DSLR cameras. I am a big fan of ASUS products - I bouhht a tablet ASUS Transformer, Desktop PC and a laptop. This brand is bringing outstanding quality and durability. My PC is working like a tank already 4 years without any problems. I recommend ZenFone 2 for another important reason - longlasting battery. The performance of the battery is way better than iPhones's and Samsung Galaxy. I tested all the tree and ZenFone is winner.

    question

Is this US version? will buyer get US warranty?
Asked by: Md Israk Nur S.
In situations where B&H offers both a USA and an imported version of a product, we label each version clearly and explicitly. If a product does not have an indication either way, it is understood to be by default a USA product. In situations where only a USA version is offered it will not be labeled USA. This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty.
