Canon Rebel T5 Overview

Combining a pair of zooms with a versatile DSLR, the EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm and 75-300mm Lenses Bundle from Canon includes the sleek camera, two lenses covering wide-angle to telephoto perspectives, and a padded gadget bag for holding all of the kit components.

The Rebel T5 features an 18 megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor to produce high resolution still imagery and full HD video recording with notable low-light sensitivity to an expandable ISO 12800. In addition to the bright pentamirror optical viewfinder, a 3.0" 460k-dot LCD monitor is also available for image monitoring and review as well as menu navigation. Scene Intelligent Auto mode can be employed for optimizing camera settings to best-render the scene at hand and a helpful Feature Guide can also be employed to display a simple description of each camera mode and function to aid in learning the intricacies of the T5.

Included with the camera body is the standard zoom EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, which provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 28.8-88mm. One aspherical element is incorporated within the optical design to help minimize chromatic aberrations and an Optical Image Stabilizer system has also been integrated to reduce the appearance of camera shake. Extending the combined zoom range even further, the EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III lens is also included, which offers an equivalent focal length range of 120-480mm. Well-suited to use with distant subjects, this lens utilizes a DC autofocus motor to acquire precise focus while the telephoto perspective is especially useful for visually compressing the space between subjects and producing a shallow depth of field.

Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens

The Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens is an 18MP APS-C format DSLR camera with a DIGIC 4 image processor. It is paired with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, giving you a range of wide-angle to short telephoto focal lengths.

The combination of the T5's CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor provide high clarity, a wide tonal range, and natural color reproduction. With an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to 12800), you can shoot in low-light situations, reducing the need for a tripod or a flash. The nine-point autofocus system includes one center cross-type AF point to deliver accurate focus in both landscape and portrait orientations.

You can capture Full HD 1080p video by way of the T5's dedicated Live View/Movie Recording button, at 30, 25, or 24 fps. Additionally, the camera can also record HD video in 720p at 60 and 50 fps, and 480p at 30 and 35 fps.

The 3" rear LCD screen has 460,000 pixels, and a 170° viewing angle, making it ideal for menu navigation, composing in Live View, and reviewing or sharing your photos and videos.

The Rebel T5 is compatible with the full line of Canon EF and EF-S lenses, and is paired here with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens. This lens offers wide-angle to standard focal lengths, with a 35mm equivalency of 29-88mm. It is a versatile lens that can focus as close as 9.8".

The lens features Canon's Optical Image Stabilization technology, which provides up to four stops of compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. This helps to get clear, crisp images, even in low light situations. Aberrations are minimized thanks to an aspherical lens element, and a circular aperture renders pleasing out-of-focus areas.

    question

Can you download photos using the newest Mac operating system? Once I upgraded my operating system, I could no longer download photos from my previous Canon camera (which was recently stolen).
    Asked by: Carlene S.
The operating system you are using should not interfere with you downloading images to your computer (if you are referring to editing images, you may wish to check the version of your editing software to ensure it is compatible with your OS). If you are using Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.x.) which is their newest version of their operating system, Canon has both software and firmware available for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T5 DSLR camera compatible with High Sierra under their Drivers & Downloads section on their website. As they are free downloads, you may visit Canon's website to download the new drivers or firmware for your computer.

    question

What zoom should I get to have the same 50x zoom as my HS 50? It barely zooms in with the 75-300 lense. Thanks!
    Asked by: Anonymous
There are various all in one zoom lenses available for this camera here: https://bhpho.to/2qIfWvhUnfortunately there are no 50x zoom lenses for DSLRs. A lens with as much zoom as the HS50, made for a much larger DSLR sensor camera, would physically be too larger for practical use and unfathomably expensive. When shooting with an SLR, it is generally recommended to break up your zoom range with various lenses, 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, and if you wanted further zoom, 150-600mm is also available. Not only will breaking up the zoom range allow for further reach, but sharper and brighter photos as well.
