Heliopan UV SH-PMC Filter Overview

The Heliopan 107mm UV SH-PMC Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others. The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The SH-PMC multi-coating provides a total of 16 coatings, 8 per side, for significant reflection reduction (below 0.2%) as well as dust and moisture repellence for easier cleaning.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Clear filter provides no additional coloration or contrast, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
Works as general protection filter to reduce dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

Painted threads too thick

I wanted to indulge myself with a heliopan to protect a really nice f1.4 in mint condition. This was a replacement for a 60yr old Hoya that came with the lens that had become hard to clean. I was alarmed when I felt resistance initially trying to put it on, fearing I was cross-threading. Removed after less than ½ a turn. No problems installing the Pentax lens hood on the lens, nor two other filters. Tried again, confirmed alignment with the threads, and got it settled. It bothered me about the poor fit, so I removed the heliopan and saw that the coating on the threads was coming off. Heliopan's customer service never responded. Next time I will get a B W that the rep at B&H recommended.

I use these for all my lenses. Well-made, don't stick, and no noticeable change in image quality.

Yes, the Heliopan Series 8 UV Haze SH-PMC Filter does have 67mm front filter threads and it will hold well a 67mm Tamron lens cap.

I read a customer review in Amazon which indicates that this filter does not fit the canon cap for the EF 24-105mm lens. Is that true?I currently own 2 L-class canon lenses the EF 24-105 f/4 kit bought with Canon EOS 6D and the EF 17-40 f/4. Both need 77mm UV filters. I have already had two (2) non-heliopan 77 mm filters ,but want to upgrade to Heliopan filters and want to make sure they fit my canon lense caps.Thank you for your answer

I have this filter on my 70-200, 24, and 24-105. I have the center pinch canon lens caps. I have no problem with my lens caps.
