  • 24mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/16
  • Two Aspherical Elements, Two ED Elements
Fast and wide, the XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR is a 24mm-equivalent wide-angle lens designed specifically for FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras. Two aspherical and two extra-low dispersion elements are featured in the optical design, and help to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. Both a Nano-GI coating and HT-EBC coating are also used to control ghosting and flare for enhanced contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics is a floating focus system that benefits autofocus speed and also maintains consistent performance throughout the focusing range. Additionally, the lens body is also weather-sealed to support working in trying environmental conditions.

Yes, like all Fuji lenses. It is the standard plastic one and a higher quality metal hood has been announced for later this year.

Has anyone used the 16 mm with the LEE Seven5 Filter System? Any vignetting or reflection issues?
Asked by: Timothy
With the appropriate adapter, the LEE Filters 67mm Seven5 Adapter Ring B&H # LEARS567, there will be no vignetting issues. Reflection issues are systemic to all filters and every effort must be made to flag off specular light at the source.

If you already owned the 10-24 f4, do you think springing for another $1000 lens that sits in the middle of this focal range is justifiable? Asking the question another way: is the step up from the 10-24 that substantial?
Asked by: Anonymous
I don't own the 10-24 but I considered it along with the 16. I bought the 16 because I often shoot early morning and dusk/ blue hour. The max aperture of 1.4 is very helpful in these light conditions. In addition it can be used for some level of subject isolation while keeping a huge amount of context -- pretty cool. is For landscapes the FL of the 16 is probably the best compromise for my taste although I have occasionally wished to go wider. Finally, the 16 can focus very close which comes in incredibly handy when out with just this one lens. The 16 is not a petite lens.Hope this helps.

how is this lens for Video ? any distortion ?
Asked by: patricia p.
Yes....have used it quite a bit. This is one of the 3 XF lenses that has an option for good manual focus which is preferred for cinema style focus pulling. The other 2 are the 14mm and the 23mm 1.4.
