Create a beautiful, soft light nearly anywhere with the LunaGrip Kit from Westcott, which includes a 40.5" 5-in-1 reflector disc and a carrying bag. Designed by photographer Kevin Kubota, this devices utilizes an adjustable shoe mount bracket to hold an on-camera flash unit and then features three collapsible flexible grip arms to hold a diffusion disc or reflector from 20-42" in size. It softens the light output from the flash while creating round catchlights and is lightweight enough to be used handheld or on a stand. The different reflector materials add to the unit's versatility by providing multiple types of bounce for different situations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality of light, difficult to assemble Maybe it is just me, but I have a difficult time assembling this product--especially when it is on a light stand. The poles just do not want to go in their correct spot easily. And unfortunately you have to put the pole on the reflector BEFORE inserting into the grip. Also, in regard to stand use, it will only fit on a Westcott stand. You will need an adaptor to make it work with other brands. That said, once you have this together it is great. Beautiful soft light, works great as a background for beauty shots. My assistant found it easy to carry and work with. If Westcott could just make the pole insertion easier, it would be a 5 star winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I just got this after taking a Event Space class with Kevin Kubota. He used this in his class and on our photo walk. Seeing as he is the inventor, I was able to really see its use in action. I couldn't wait to get home and practice with it! The first time I used it I am now convinced that it will definitely help in making my images really stand creative control this gives you is amazing! It even will attach to a stand for times I don't have an assistant with me! I highly recommend s product!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light, not easy to assemble The directions weren't super easy to follow, and the device wasn't easy for me to assemble, but once I got everything going it produced a great result. Definitely needed a heavier duty lightstand and/or a sandbag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good No this product isn't amazing, however it gets the job done. It's a bit unwieldy. My assistant is not a very large person and when the wind kicks up it seems like she's about to fly off with it. Assembly isn't hard but it is slightly difficult especially if your holding a camera. The performance is good though and it's great for portraits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Idea When I saw the LunaGrip online, I had to have it. I have often fired a Speedlight through a diffuser but that required two assistants - usually the subjects friends and families - one to hold the diffuser and one to hold the Speedlight. The LunaGrip is portable, lightweight, and easy to set up. It keeps a mounted Speedlight a fixed distance from the diffuser and pointed the right way. When assembled, it is a large light source that does the job of a softbox but is light enough to be held by the handle with one hand or mounted on a small light stand. I bought the kit that includes a 42 diffuser, the largest recommended size. I also bought a smaller 30 diffuser. The LunaGrip has holes to mount the rods that are marked small, medium, and large for different size diffusers. The large light source wraps around the subject like a softbox of equivalent size. It produces large, round catchlights. My first use was to shoot a CD cover for a female artist. We went to an 1800s factory with great wooden floors. The factory has been repurposed and is full of businesses. We entered the building with the collapsed LunaGrip instead of a huge softbox. Assembly was quick and easy and the subject's husband was recruited to be the voice-actuated light stand. The single light source wrapped beautifully around the subject and, when held to the side, looked like window light. Two suggestions are for better documentation. The mounting holes for the rods and marked small, medium, and large. There should be some hint as to what diffuser sizes are small, medium, and large. Better assembly instructions are needed. Through trial and error, I learned the rods should be attached to the diffuser first and then the Speedlight mount. I highly recommend the LunaGrip and can't wait to use it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy addition , easy to use. Works with flash and without Out of the bag, no issues with assembly. All parts seem to be of good quality. The clipping means to change the reflector for the diffuser or a different diffuser material takes a little longer but it is not a huge problem . Should make it easier if no assistant to hold diffuser, but able to fire camer with a remote. Worth buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Constant lighting I hooked my 40 dollar LED constant lighting to it and It gives me a beautiful soft look that Is just jaw dropping. My LED isn't bright enough to nail that main/key light position just yet, but I will definitely recommend this very mobile contraption for constant lighting.
