hahnel Captur Reviews

Used for 2-camera Panorama action photography

By Paul
Rated 5 out of 5
Date: 2025-06-10

I like to shoot a dance recital with one camera in my hand and a remote camera which captures the whole stage. This year I tried setting up two remote cameras for a 2-cam panorama since the stage is so large relative to a dancer. The panoramas are seamless, so 5-stars from me. Notably, I used this Sony set along with release cable BH# VERCC2O325 with an Olympus OMD EM5 II since the Oly/Pana version was not in stock. My only gripe is that I usually had to unplug the receiver from the remote camera in order to engage the camera menu, but I assume that to be the fault of the camera and not the trigger.

Great for Real Estate

I use this to hide my flash when shooting real estate. The flash can be hidden behind furniture, across the room, or even on a separate floor. Doesn't matter, it'll work, the range is great.

Has anyone used ( hahnel Capture Remote Control and Flash Trigger for Nikon) with the new Z9 mirrorless camera?
Asked by: John
According to the manufacturer's website, the new Nikon Z-series cameras that are compatible for use with the hahnel Captur Remote Control and Flash Trigger for Nikon Cameras would be the Nikon Z5, Z6, Z7, Z6 II, and Z7 II Mirrorless Digital Cameras. While the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Digital Camera is not currently listed (as it is the newest of the listed options), it should still be compatible for use with the hahnel Captur Remote Control and Flash Trigger for Nikon Cameras.

question

Can the Nikon 810 built-in flash be used to trigger remote Nikon flash units when the Captur is being used on the camera to trigger the camera?
Asked by: Ted H.
The hahnel remote does not need to be on the D810s hot shoe in order to trigger the camera: it simply needs to be plugged into the 10-pin accessory port. So, you could use the pop-up flash to trigger a compatible wireless flash while the camera is being triggered by the hahnel remote.

question

will it wake up a remote SB-800?
Asked by: Bob S.
While this product will not wake up a remote SB-800 with the receiver attached, you can set the SB-800 to stay awake all of the time (which will shorten battery life). You can also set the flash to enter standby mode from 40, 80, 160, and 300 seconds. This is done through the custom functions of the flash.

question

Will these work with the GFX 50s? Also, is there a way to connect the receiver to an ancient Speedotron pack with household sync connection?
Asked by: Adam S.
As of now it has not been tested by Fuji or Hahnel. So as a shutter release the only one we have listed as compatible with the GFX is a wired one by Fuji, Fujifilm RR-90 Remote Release B&H # FURR90 MFR # 16394611And this one by Hahnel is use with speed-lights not strobes like you listed.
