Cold Shoe Adapter with 1/4" Thread is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and compact The title sums it up well. I was torn between this and Custom Brakets' equivalent. Even though this Promedia cold shoe was about $8 more, it was worth it for its smaller size, and the screw stoppers at one end. Also, the fact this can be tightened from the top, and the included hex screw becomes tucked in a hole in the center. This allows the cold shoe to be tightened two ways, not just from underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey but well worth it. More expensive than the offshore stuff normally available, this cold shoe is very well made and compatible with my Canon 600EX RT. Their is a hole for the safety pin to drop in and secures the flash as it was designed to be. The cold shoe can be attached from the top of from below. Heavy duty construction and no moving parts means that this is the last cold shoe you need to buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from do the job I use it on my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, with a Wooden Camera cage, to stick a canon microphone. I choose this shoe adapter because the sides (borders) are really thin, so it takes a tight place on my cage and leave a max of holes available for other accessories. I also like the two screws which makes a stop at the front. It stops the accessory you plug in it, a kind of security and time saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built Very well built. I use this to mount my Nikon SB910 to the Promedia Boomerang Flash Bracket. There is a tiny bit of play where the speedlight slides into the shoe and I prefer a snugger fit, but it doesn't effect performance. Once the flash is locked in it's secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little gizmo. Great little piece of gear...took a long time to find. I wanted a second hot shoe on my Gitzo Systematic 5 tripod. It has a mounting screw hole so all I had to do was install a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter bushing, add this adapter, add a Manfrotto ball type hot shoe adapter and everything was perfect. I can use my flash normally, on the camera, and install a monitor in the dummy hot shoe on the side of the tripod...very clean setup. This little adapter is nicely machined and finished too. I also avoid putting the weight of the recorder on top of my camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but way overpriced Good construction but would be better if it was a bit larger. The hot shoe sticks out a little even when it's pushed in all the way. Price-wise it's a rip-off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would buy this again. Very well made, and precise. Depending on the speedlight, the contact pins may catch on the edge of the centre opening interfering with speedlight removal.
