    Epson P800 reviews

SureColor P800 Inkjet Printer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 381.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from P800 SureColor Printer is Excellent Choice Excellent Printer. I was looking for a good printer for create photographic prints larger that 8X11. Everyone that I spoke with that prints large prints uses Epson printer. I took an expensive chance and purchase the new Epson P800. I was amazed at the quality of the images that I have created using the printer in the last 5 days since receiving the printer. The printer setup with my iMac was just a simple plug-in and you can start your printing of images. Both large and small images are beautifully reproduced from both Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop software. I highly recommend the printer who wants a new printer for producing quality photo prints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from prints well but is missing some key things I have had 5 epson printers over the past 15 years. This one prints well but does not have a manual media release lever for easy and often necessary paper release. This printer forces you to physically pull the paper out. also the touch screen works poorly. often you have to press it numerous times for a single command. it is located on the front instead of on the top, so you cnats see if if you are trying to load roll paper which you have to do from the back. overall construction quality is down from the older 2000p models. I have always sworn by espon printers, now it seems they are cutting corners on quality. These was not an inexpensive printer. I expected more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson 800 Background: I'm a retired professional fine art printmaker and have made my living reproducing art for galleries and museums for the last 35 years. Epson printers have been my mainstay since the 90s. I've owned and used just about every 44 inch printer Epson has made. When it came time to set up a home studio to print my own art, I chose a Epson SureColor 800. This is an impressive little printer. The print quality equals and often exceeds the 9900 and 9890. The build is as hearty as it's big brothers but sits perfectly on my desktop. The heads never seem to clog despite only being used once or twice a week. And, best of all, my prints sell at the gallery! Wonderful little printer: highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far, So Good I just purchased the Epson P800, and I haven't been using it long. It was easy to set up (After a YouTube video), and I was able to print beautiful photos right away. I can print on multiple types of surfaces, and I also bought the roll paper option for my panoramic shots. I chose the Epson P800 over the Epson 4900 because of the newer technology and because of the poor ratings the 4900 received due to the tendency for the ink head to clog. The P800 is my first and only professional printer, and it fits well in my home office. I'll be able to make my own prints for my next exhibition. Like I said: so far, so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great printer For years I used a 44 HP printer with great results, but it died and I decided a smaller printer would do. After reading many online reviews the Epson P800 clearly seemed the best 17 one to buy. Other digital photographer friends I consulted directly agreed. So I bought it and haven't been disappointed. Set up was very easy (but be careful to find EVERY piece of blue tape holding it together for shipping) and I particularly like the WIFI feature so my printer isn't tied with a cable to my iMac. Prints are beautiful and the adjustments with the print dialog box easy to understand and control. A great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice printer - easier to use than 4900 I have owned four (4!) Epson 4900 printers over the past few years. I still have two of the units - one is in pieces, the other has periodic clogged head problems that require heroic efforts to solve. When the 4900s are working they are great, otherwise they are ____ (not said). On the other hand, the P800 (and the P600 I also own) have none of these problems - but....they don't have the same wide color gamut of the 4900. SO, take your pick - P800/P600 - no functional problems but narrower gamut or 4900 with head clog problems and wider gamut. Can't Epson get it right? Can't tell....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great printer but.... This printer does an excellent job right out of the box. If you use only Epson papers such as the glossy and matte and use standard paper sizes, the printers built in .icc profiles and controls are fine. My only reason for holding back on 5 star rating is the documentation (instructions) provided by epson. I had to experiment to find out which controlled the printing parameters when using photoshop or light room with third party papers. Does the printer or software determine paper size and paper type or do you have to set it on both the printer LED and in the software. More clear instructions from Epson would be helpful!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from infuriatingly stupid printer having had the 3880 for five years, and loving that printer, this is a real step down. i dont know what the heck they were thinking. endless problems loading fine art paper in the front, the screen on which you enter your wifi password is a VERY frustrating touch screen. the letter Z would not work for the longest time, so i couldn't get it onto my wifi. and it won't print wired. yes, you heard me, won't print via usb cable. color is fine, it's more or less the same as the 3880, but all the other details are super annoying. i wish my 3880 hadn't had an unfixable clogged nozzle.
