Benro S7 overview

  • 1Description

The Benro S7 Tripod Kit with A373F Aluminum Legs is designed to support camera rigs weighing up to 15.4 pounds. The kit pairs the S7 video head with the 2-stage, 3-section A373F Series 3 aluminum tripod. The head attaches to the tripod using a removable 75mm bowl adapter, and attaches directly to tripods, monopods, sliders, and other camera support equipment with a 3/8"-16 threaded stud. The system has a maximum height of 63.18", a minimum height of 11.6", and weighs 8.5 pounds. A carrying case is included for convenient transport and storage.

The head features a 4-step counterbalance system to counter the weight of your camera or heavy lens, and continuous pan drag adjustment so you can dial in the right amount of tension for each shot. The pan and tilt locks operate independently of each other and are located on the operator side of the head for easy access and control. The head has a tilt range of -50° to +90°. Your camera attaches to the S7 head via an included Manfrotto 501/504PL compatible sliding quick release plate. Also included is an adjustable-length pan bar handle which can be mounted on either side of the head. Additional features include an illuminated bubble level and two 3/8"-16 threads for attaching optional accessories such as a monitor or recorder.

The A3573F Series 3 aluminum tripod legs features a 2-stage design, with three sections that are secured using flip-lock levers. The legs feature a spreader-less design with three discreet stops for locking them at different degrees of spread. In addition, they can be opened fully for low-angle shooting. For a secure grip on virtually any surface, the tripod has screw-in rubber feet can be easily swapped out with included spiked feet.

    Benro S7 reviews

S7 Video Tripod Kit with A373F Aluminum Legs is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional I have had a very solid tripod for over 4 years and I really needed to upgrade to some thing that could for 1 get much lower and get higher. This tripod is absolutely incredible and you are getting exactly what you pay for. The head alone is out of the future. I cant believe how effectively you can control the pan and tilt. And the counterweight balance is great because I often have a large setup on top of it. I added a Giottos quick release plate between the ball head and tripod head so that I can take the head off immediately and put it on my Glide Gear slider or my jib. The bubble head even has a light on it, never have I ever seen such a thing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for pros I was looking for a light tripod for traveling. I mainly shoot video with a C300 and 1DX mkII. Even with the 1DX, the camera feel to heavy for the tripod. The pan and tilt drag is too weak. After reading other reviews, I regret not sending it back, maybe I had a dud. One of the other thing that mesmerize me is the lock mechanism placement. With both of my cameras, it's almost impossible to fully screw it because it touches the bottom of the cam... This is very weird. Otherwise the build quality is great for the price, and it is the smallest video tripod I found with a ball head. I'm considering keeping the legs and the ball and put a Manfrotto head instead. If you've never used a real video tripod before, you might like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod for DSLR video Nice stable platform for the DSLR Video shooter. I have the S6 video tripod kit and bought the S7 Video Kit for the control drag on the pan and it works nice and smooth. The Benro plate sticks a bit, but the Manfrotto QR plate that I have on camera slides on smooth. Glad it has that safety stop which has saved my camera at least once. The kit also comes with a nice case. Discovered the Benro brand a few years ago when I bought a Benro S4 video monopod. Benro is a good value when compared to some pricier models.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really wanted to like this Both the pan and tilt had problems. I figured because it was new so I tried to warm it up but I could not get the head to a place where it had smooth pan or tilt. This tripod has so many great features, it's a shame it didn't work out. Maybe i had a dud. I loved everything except for the main features.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Upsetting Experience I was really excited after the delivery guy delivered the product m but it's sad to see that the pan and drag controls are faulty and I don't have enough money to send back the faulty product for replacement. But I'm happy with the tripod legs . But for me it's of no use as I only spent almost 50000 for a tripod to record video . Where the smooth pan head performs the main job

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pan Drag Too Weak Looked great but right out of the box I noticed a big problem. I tightened the tilt drag as high as it would go. When I let go the weight of the handle pulled the head down. I put it back in the box and returned for an exchange for another one hoping this was just a dud. It is a very impressive deal for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Video Tripod After checking out the other brands and models I found this tripod to be the best video tripod I ever used. Easy to use, very sturdy, great head and beautiful carry case.
