8GB Clip Jam MP3 Player (Orange) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 142.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I would have given the Clip Jam MP3 Player a five except for one important thing. While the control buttons being on the front of the clip are very handy and easy to use, they are actually TOO easy to use. While carrying the clip, whether in a pocket, purse, or case, the on/off button can easily be depressed inadvertently, causing the clip's battery to run down. I think the on/off button was better when it was located on the side of the unit, such as the old clip. Other than that, it works great and is a very handy small size. This is my third clip and I probably would still be using the first one, if the clip had not broken off, which also happened to the second one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little MP3 Player This SanDisk Clip Jam is a tiny 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 (approx) and was exactly what I wanted to replace my very, very old ipod nano. The stereo sound is superb (using my own earbuds. The buds that come with it are awful). Even comes with FM radio. Has slot for SD micro card to add more songs. The price of $30 is perfect... don't have to worry if I lose it. So, why didn't I give it 5 stars? Instructions direct you to a Sandisk website that can't be found. I came to a sansa website. The Sansa MP3 player gave enough info that I was able to figure out what to do with the Sandisk Clip Jam.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited choices for reasonably priced players for audio book I did a lot of research before buying. Reviews stated that it bookmarked automatically and was very reliable. However, my experience after several books is that bookmarks are lost if the player needs charging before the book is finished. Also, there's not always a clean transition from section to section (e.g., Part 1 transitions to Part 11) and when transitioning it sometimes starts in the middle of a sentence. I'm not happy with the front screen, which scrolls but cuts off the title, so when I'm looking for Part 1 it will scroll the title all the way to Part and stop. I have to click on each one to see the full text. When it works properly it's great, but while driving it's frustrating to try to find your place when it doesn't transition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Better Than Expected Solid little piece of technology with a LOT of benefits over my older MP3 player. First, the buttons are all intuitive even for a beginner. The system pretty much leads you to what you want to do (FM radio, audio books, music shuffle or albums) and it is easy to skip around. The rechargeable battery is great and gets about 18 hrs per charge (so no more AAA batteries at the Dollar Store). The clip allows you to put it almost anywhere, and the 8 gigs is a LOT of memory....but I ordered another 8 gig because it was only $5 and I thought I'd rip some books on CD to my ClipJam. Pretty much hope this lasts as long as my 7 yr old San Disk :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a tiny radio station I got this because the one radio station I had been listening to went downhill, I needed a better source of music. The SanDisk was priced right, and I am amazed at how much music 8GB can hold. The instructions were a bit confusing, but that didn't really matter because the unit itself is intuitive, and loading and organizing music from a PC is easy. And it is very light, which will lessen the impact if it gets dropped. Claimed battery life is 18 hours - I have not tested that fully, but after 4 to 6 hours the battery icon shows nearly full. I did not try the included headphones, I always listen through the old (1975) stereo in my car or the old (1972) HiFi at home. It works great for both, although the volume (on the mp3 player) needs to be turned up nearly to full so that I don't have to turn the stereo/HiFi volume up so far that I blast the speakers when I unplug the player. My closest thing to a complaint is that shuffle does not seem to be completely random - it tends to group a couple of songs together from the same album, with one 'different' song in-between. That is a very small complaint. I plan to buy more of these to give away, I know several people who could really use something like this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as older models. I accidentally dropped mu Sansa Clip Plus in the water and I could not get to power up after that. I decided to buy the Sansa clip Jam 8gb, figured it was an upgrade, well short story long, I could not get to to work through my Kenwood HD car receiver through the 3.5 AUX jack, I get noise n the background and it is a lowed hum, intolerable. The clip jam plays fine through headphones but not my car stereo, I did not have any problem with the Clip Plus, it worked fine with and AUX jack but the Clip Jam simply does not worth with my car stereo. Work-around: use the USB port vs. the AUX jack, sound is OK using USB buy I prefer the AUX jack. I read many reviews and this is common problem with the Clip Jam, upgraded to latest firmware but it made no difference.---Buyer beware---

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on the go These little gems are super for listening on the go. If you would want to listen to e-books, radio, podcasts, or your music collection. They have the power to last for up to 18 hours or most of the week to and from work. You can use headphones or portable speakers for a party or personal listening. Plus if you jog you can just clip it to almost any clothes that you wear. These are a lot less expensive that any of the competition with more perks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from upgraded model from my last 2 sansa clips. to be honest, this is the 3rd one I have bought over the last 8 years or so. They just die when you really want to use it. This new model is my least favorite. The rocker switch that functions as the on and off, AND the forward to next song button, does not work well. I have pressed it to the right, so that I could listen to the next song, and nothing happens. I think it may be defective, but I will re=read the directions, to make sure that I am doing it right. So when nothing happens, I press it to the right again, and the unit shuts off. It is not reacting properly to the right or press down command. I will live with it. On a positive note, the price was right, and shipping was faster than expected.
