XYZprinting 3F1J0XUS00C overview

  • 1Description

Experience the functionality of a 3D printer in simple and miniature form with the da Vinci Junior 1.0 3D Printer from XYZprinting. Print in PLA up to a maximum build volume of 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9" with printing speeds up to 100mm/s. Create detailed objects in resolutions as fine as 100 microns, or choose the Ultra Fast speed setting to print your designs in 400-micron resolution when greater precision isn't required. The included XYZWare software will accept .STL files and convert them to .3W files for printing on the da Vinci Junior. Send the completed designs to the printer via USB 2.0 cable or SD card, with SDHC cards supported up to 32GB.

The da Vinci Junior's build plate calibrates automatically, and is located in an enclosed printing area that protects users from hot machinery during printing, although the print bed itself is not heated. PLA filament is fed into the da Vinci Junior from a spool mounted inside the printer. The extruder is easily removed with a fluid press-and-release mechanism that makes replacement simple.

The da Vinci Junior 1.0 ships fully assembled and is ready to print out of the box. Also included with the da Vinci Junior are one spool of filament and several post-production tools. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.

General Features

Print Speed Upgrade
Max print speed up to 100mm/s. XYZware software must be updated to version or above.
Big Things Come in Small Packages
Don't let its slimmer and lighter look fool you. The da Vinci Jr. has a robust build size of 5.9 x 5.9 x 5.9" and a resolution of 100 to 400 microns. Its design allows for the inclusion of an auto-feeding filament system, which takes the PLA filament to the extruder, and ensures that the filament is loaded properly and is ready to print.
EZ-Offset Calibration
Traditional 3-to-4 knob calibrations on the beds of 3D printers are complicated, but with the da Vinci Jr. 1.0, the print bed is already completely leveled and it only requires a Z Offset calibration. With the Z Offset calibration, you can adjust the distances between the extruder and the print bed, making sure that each print comes out just right.
Compact and Safe
With its completely enclosed designed and non-heated print tray, the da Vinci Jr. 1.0 is built with your safety in mind. Kids, beginners, and makers can all enjoy countless hours of 3D printing. The EZ-Offset Calibration makes it easy to get perfect your prints, while the auto-feeding filament system and easy-to-install filament spools save you time on getting your first project started.
Press and Release
The da Vinci Jr. features a fluid, press-and-release extruder which makes for an easy extruder replacement or cleaning experience. Simply open up your 3D printer, press the release button, and the replacement or cleaning process can be done within few seconds.
Environmentally Friendly
The da Vinci Jr.'s PLA filament spools are a non-toxic, biodegradable plastic that is recyclable and safe for the environment. With its compact design, the da Vinci Jr. only consumes 75W of power.

    XYZprinting 3F1J0XUS00C reviews

da Vinci Junior 1.0 3D Printer is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was working just fine until a few days ago I have had this printer for about three months now, and I have printed many things over that time period. It wasn't until a few days ago that I decided to print something after buying some more filament that the guide tube kept popping up from where the filament comes through and also noticed nothing was printing. So I figured that the print head was clogged, and I have used every, and I mean EVERY method suggested for cleaning it out and the tube STILL keeps popping up. I really want to keep using it, but I really need some suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value from a PLA Only 3D Printer The da Vinci Jr. 1.0 is a great bang for your buck with the decent build size of 6 x 6 x 6 inches and SD card compatibility. I printed out numerous projects so far and the print quality on this machine is fantastic. The only issues with printing is that it sometimes has trouble printing small details. However, this could be improved by changing the print settings in the XYZware, like making the extruder move at a slower rate, which decreases streaking. So, one of the most important features about this printer is its usability. Let me tell you right now, this machine will take you a while to set up properly. There isn't the three-knob calibration print bed that other 3D printers have, for this printer wants to be more approachable by maintaining a fixed, leveled print bed. The only thing you have to do is fix the Z Offset, which is the distance from the extruder nozzle to the print bed. This is the only calibration you have to do but it can be tricky getting it right the first few times. Unfortunately, not all of these printers were made the same, one printer could be printing excellent at .90mm offset, but mine functions the best around 1.65mm offset. This printer does 100 to 400 microns, and the infill and speed are all adjustable in the XYZware. I've printed out some quick decorations for my desk, but I've also spent a few hours printing out this model of the Statue of Liberty at excellent quality (100 microns) and slow speed at a 30% infill. The quality of the model was amazing. Overall, the 3D printer was hard, even frustrating at times to set up properly, but once it gets going it produces some of the best prints I've ever seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Printer I've had this printer for about 8 months now and continue to be amazed by its power and versatility. Out of the several hundred items that I have printed, only 2 of them have had problems requiring a reprint. The filament for the printer is slightly more expensive than bulk no-name filaments available on line, but it is high quality and reliable. Every spool of filament comes with an RF-ID tag that tells the printer how best to handle the plastic (what temperature to use) and how much material is left on the spool making it nearly foolproof to change colors and still get good prints. At times, I would like to print larger than 5.9 and I would like the ability to use ABS plastic. However, for the price, I have been very pleased with this printer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Beginners Printer This little printer does everything it claims to do and does it well. It printed fine right out of the box, and prints even better now that I raised the Z axis setting a little bit. I have printed many projects with it in the past few months, some of them rather complex, with four different colors of plastic and have had a success rate of better than 85%. It would be nice if the printer accepted additional types of plastic (it only prints in PLA), but what can you expect at this price point? My biggest complaint is that only special XYZ PLA filament may be used because of the required proprietary RFID tag. I would give it 5 stars were it not for this. XYZ refills are more expensive by about 50% than competing plastic so this inexpensive printer becomes relatively more expensive the more it is used. Overall, it's a great beginners printer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after 2 days I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loved it at first, but after two days all we get out of it is an error code 0011. Apparently, searching on google, this is a common problem without great resolutions. Customer service at xyz printing is useless. I'm hoping that with some time I'll be able to fix it (at which point, I may be able to revise this review), but I haven't been able to spend what I'm sure will be several hours to resolve the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great gift for a 13 yr old boy this a gift for a 13 year old boy. In one word he absolutely loves it. I offered some help with the initial setup and the first head cleaning. After a few hiccups with the first setup mostly due to the boy's impatience on following procedures, it has been smooth sailing. The material prints smoothly, if slowly and hardly ever jams. Cleaning the head is relatively easy. He loves designing stuff in Fusion 3D and then printing out his ideas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tons of Fun! I won this printer from XYZ Printing's Easter Giveaway on Facebook, and I couldn't be happier. It's very easy to set up and use almost right out of the box. It also comes with several sample prints to get you started right away. Smaller prints only take a few minutes, but be prepared for the larger prints to take several hours, depending on size and complexity. Overall, it's a very good printer if you are just getting into the 3D printing world like myself. I will say, I'm definitely hooked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Junior??? I dont think so! Had this for one week now and its been amazing! Easy to use as a beginner. My son is 5, he's excited to start designing (finally got him off his switch)... Great for STEM edu..and great for people who want to try out 3d printing. Besides the technical features from similar sized competitors, this does the job well for its price range. Great quality for the price. Its pretty large but its a pretty sharp addition to my home office. I'm giving 4 stars only because you can only buy xyz brand pla.
