Ideal for beginner to intermediate observers, the Omni XLT AZ 130mm f/5 Reflector Telescope from Celestron offers a complete kit for viewing the Moon, planets, meteor showers, and bright deep-sky objects. The optics are fully coated with the proprietary XLT anti-reflection coatings to limit light loss and produce brighter and clearer images with more accurate colors and enhanced contrast versus non-coated systems.

The scope features the manual Omni alt-azimuth mount with slip clutches, and dual slow-motion controls on both axes for precise tracking. A 1.25" diameter barrel eyepiece is included that yields 26x power, and a 1.25" eyepiece and accessory will fit the focuser to add greater versatility to the scope. Its adjustable-height aluminum tripod provides a stable observation platform, and its maximum height of 49" allows for comfortable viewing by most users.

Omni XLT AZ 130mm f/5 Reflector Telescope is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great introductory telescope I purchased this kit to dabble a bit in backyard star/moon-gazing. I'm a beginner, but am impressed by the overall quality of this setup. The OTA is made of metal; the focus knobs are smooth; the tripod and mount are very well made. I haven't used other telescopes in this price range, but I definitely feel it's a good value. You get a fairly large aperture along with almost everything needed to look at the night sky. Lunar and planetary views were great with the right eyepieces. A few notes: -While the mount & tripod feels sturdy, dampening time takes several seconds. This can be bothersome at higher magnifications as slight bumps will cause whatever you're looking at to jump all over the place. -The supplied 20mm eyepiece is decent, but it's not stellar. It has a narrow FOV and mediocre IQ. Invest in a few quality eyepieces and your viewing experience will be much more enjoyable. Larger angle eyepieces, such as Meade 5000 UWA or Celestron Luminos are great. Celestron X-Cel, Orion Stratus, or quality Plossls make good planetary eyepieces. -The red dot finder is a little flimsy. It's made of plastic and moves around in its mount. Overall, this is a great package. However, I see myself replacing it with an equal aperture refractor very soon for improved quality and portability. If this is the most you're willing to spend on a telescope or just want to see what's there, I say go for it. If you're comfortable spending a little more (or see yourself committed to learning astronomy for years to come), I recommend spending more on a better OTA and mount.
