ONA The Camps Bay Reviews

Well worth the price

At first glance you would think this was just a regular backpack not something fashioned for photographers, very well made and a wonderful minimalistic design. I mostly use the bag as storage and occasional instate travel but I would feel pretty confident taking this on a plane or a long trip considering the quality of this backpack. To give you an idea of how much room you'll have; I can put my Sony a7r iii attached to a 70-200GM, 18mm prime lens, 2x teleconverter, Off camera flash and room for one more prime lens as well as my dell xps 15 in the laptop pocket. I use the upper zipper pocket to put lens cleaning supplies and my laptop charger and maybe a tightly sealed contigo bottle but you have a lot of room for things especially with the adjustable divider. The front pockets don't have a whole lot of room so I end up putting Flashdrives, a spare battery and loose lens covers. There's also what looks like two side pouches that look like you could put a water bottle in but it's doesn't stretch out enough so maybe you could use it for your phone or something else *shrugs* One of the best purchases I've made and would make it again in a heart beat

I’m thrilled!

I was looking for a bag that can fit big lense and two camera body and a laptop. Good padding and nice material. Happy to have this.

Fashionable and Functional but...

So I initially was looking into getting a new bag that looked fashionable and had space. Usually you have to give up some kind of functionality to gain some fashionable look to it. The best feature of this bag is it FITS ALOT! I am able to get the following in this bag: DSLR Camera 2 lenses - 105mm/50mm MacBook 13’ iPad Pro 12’ 2 - Zoom H6 with 2 mic heads Monitor LED Light panel 2 Flashes 4 hard drives Mini tripod Accessory box - wires etc. 3 battery pouches Bose revolve speaker Monopod in the side pocket. Now the CONS: The material for this one in particular is like denim, it’ll easily get dirty and I have a cat and dog and all their hair gets on it and it’s impossible to get out without a lint roller or brush so careful storage is necessary. The zip pocket in front is entirely too tight. You have to stretch it out a bit and I would only consider just putting pens and maybe an adapter. Your gear will vary but this is to give you an idea of the space.

Well made but a tight fit

I have to say it's nicely made and looks great. I find the side pockets too tight to put anything useful in such as an umbrella, reusable cup or such. Laptop fits in super snugly.. maybe the bag will loosen up a little with time.

Extremely well constructed

This is one of the very best camera bags I have ever see. I bought this for my girlfriend and she has been using it ever since.

Very durable

It's very big, and can fit a lot. One thing I like about it is that even though it's not technically waterproof, it withstands light rain pretty well, which is important for where I live.

Great backpack

Will the bag hold a 600 mm lease?
Asked by: Mark
If you're thinking big 600mm primes like Nikon 600mm f4 and Canon 600mm f4 the answer is no. If you're thinking about the 150-600mm zooms from Tamron and Sigma, yes. For those big lenses take a look at RULBB1600B , LOLTAW2 , TAT0280 .

Will this backpack fit under the seat on airplane?
Asked by: Alesia
That is something you would need to reach out to the airline you are flying with regarding the sizes that can fit under the seat on their flights. This case has exterior dimensions of 17 x 13 x 6.5" and is well within normal carry-on sizes though.

question

The specs say one camera body and 7 lenses. If I'm traveling with only two or three lenses, can I get two Canon 7D bodies with grips in it?
Asked by: Samuel
I have not tried, but I think that you should be able to do it, if the lenses are not too large.

question

can the bag be packed flat for traveling? I have my camera in a rolling bag but I don't need the rolling bag once I get to my location.
Asked by: Felita
not really. the inner padded dividers will not allow. Even removed, the material is a bit to thick (for good reason) to pack flat.

question

When I look at the picture showing a camera with attached lens in the central area amd lenses in the slots around it, I wonder, what happens to the secure placement of all those lenses when you take the camera out and put the bag on your back? Looks like the lenses would have the run of the place inside the bag without the central support of the camera in there...
Asked by: Matthew A.
The lenses stay extremely secure without the camera. I recently took this bag on a trip where I was hiking 6-12 miles per day, and the lenses stayed in place with no problem, with and without the camera.

question

Is there anyway to carry a tripod with this bag? Something the size of a mefoto globetrotter. roughly 15 inches when collapsed
Asked by: Brad B.
The bag comes with various velcro dividers that you can rearrange to suit your gear. There is also a large Velcro tray that fits across the whole length and width of the bag, that acts as a tray for other smaller items. If you removed that completely and rearranged your velcro you could possibly fit it in vertically.

question

Could someone please tell me the exact dimensions of the camera compartement?
Asked by: Anonymous
That is up to you because the inside has moveable Velcro partitions which can make the camera compartment as large as 12 x 11 x 6 or any multiple of those dimensions. The only dimension that is fixed is the 6 depth but even that could be stretched to a bit more because of the soft sides..
