    SHARKK PB-SKAS062-GRY Reviews

15000 mAh Power Bank is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eye catching Power Bank by Sharkk! 15,000 mAh is a great capacity last you a week in your backpack/purse to use just in case. Pros: - Large capacity great for multiple charges while on the go - Colors/materials give the power bank a great design and feel - LED indicators - Texture Cons: - The USB ports are labeled for the different amps but it is really hard to tell unless you look up close as they are two mini lightning bolt markings. (Wish they could mark the different ports better) - Hefty, partially to be expected as you are purchasing such a large capacity - provided with a microUSB cable to charge the battery but it is just too short and feels cheap

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I purchased this product to power some audio equipment I purchased rather than rely on stingers and cables. So far, this product works great and has a long life of battery power to remotely supply to me. I liked it so much I now carry it with me just for iPhone charges when I am not using it in production. It has 4 blue lights that correlate to how much battery power there is which is extremely useful. The only con I would say is that it is rather heavy for those thinking you can cary it along in your pocket-better have a tight belt on. Otherwise everything is great about it. I am using it right now as I type!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pint-Sized Powerhouse Please be aware that I was provided with a free copy of this item for testing in order to give my fair and honest evaluation. However, I always call them as I see them. The Down-and-Dirty The Sharkk PB-SKAS062 Dual Port Power Bank offers great re-charging capability with an impressive amount of back-up power for recharging devices multiple times. But be aware that it doesn't come with an AC wall charger and is likely a bit heavier than you expect. I consider it a great product and wish I could rate it at 4.5 stars. It's almost 5 star. I like it. A whole lot. But I don't quite love it. Diving Deeper In today's portably-connected world it seems our devices alway run out of power before we do. And in many places AC or DC outlets for recharging are not conveniently available. For example, at the airport there's usually too many people competing for the small number of outlets, and I've yet to see a socket sticking up from the ground on a back-country trail. Portable power banks for recharging our devices are one step short of a necessity to prevent missing or making the next call, tweet, post, or pic. There's a lot of battery packs out there, but the Sharkk PB-SKAS062 Dual Port Power Bank with a 15,000mAh/55.5Wh lithium polymer battery is a real powerhouse. Yes, that was not a typo -- 15,000 mAh. This provides enough current for recharging iPhones about 5-6 times and Samsung devices 3-4 times. For the past several months I've been using two Uniden UN997 Power Banks I purchased last fall. While lightweight and certainly functional, the 2000 mAh rating on the Unidens seem rather puny in comparison. The Sharkk has 7.5 times more capacity. When you purchase this item you'll find the power bank, a Micro USB charging cable, the owners manual, a feedback card, and a thank you card. The latter two items, while not directly affecting the product, are a nice touch and conveys the company is customer-focused. Charging through the fast port rated at 2.1A is pretty quick. I took my Samsung phone down to 10% remaining, and it charged back to 100% in about two hours with a reasonable selection of apps running in the background. I'm not a power user on my phone, but I do milk quite a bit out of it. A second round of charging the next day to top off the Samsung's battery took less than a half-hour to get from 80% to full. I was surprised that after two charging rounds all four LEDs were still lit, indicating there was in excess of 75% charge remaining. This made me suspect the LEDs may have not been reporting correctly, but the power bank simply had more storage capacity than I anticipated. I next charged my tablet that was about 20% down and still hadn't drained it much. The following day I took my 42% charged phone back up to full, and the power bank still had over 50% left. In addition to the 2.1A charging port the Sharkk has a second port rated at 1A. So you can charge two devices simultaneously or be a bro and let a friend plug in. Besides the two device charging ports, one end contains a miniature port for recharging the battery pack and a push switch for turning it off and on by holding it for three seconds. The battery pack is smart enough to know whether something is plugged in. If nothing is charging it will shut itself to conserve battery power after a few seconds. This apparently also happens when the device is fully charged. I plugged my phone into the battery pack instead of the AC adapter beside my bed. Waking a couple of times during the night I noticed the phone was charged and the power bank had switched off. I turned it back on and the event repeated the same way each time. On the top of the power bank four blue LEDs indicate whether the unit is turned on and its charge level status. The gray rock-surface coating gives a great grip surface with no concern that it may slip out of your hand. Construction seems very tough. It has a quality feel in the hand, and nothing is loose. Strong shaking yields no movement of anything internal or external. It feels a solid as a brick in your hand. Here are the positive things I see about this battery pack: * Lots of power * Fast charging time * Multiple device charging cycles on a single charge of the battery pack * Smart circuit to turn off the battery pack in case I forget * Quality and durable construction * Very simple controls There are some concerns, however. I'd like to be able to give it a five-star rating, but I have to cap it at four (wish I could specify four-and-a-half) for the following reasons. I was a bit disappointed there was no AC wall charger supplied. Charging with the supplied cable through a USB port on a computer is certainly possible but takes considerably longer. Initial charging through a computer port is estimated at 13-15 hours, while if using a 2A wall charger the estimate is 7-8 hours. Also the supplied cord is perfectly fine for computer use on a desk, but a bit short for use with a wall charger. It's perfect for travel, but I've actually not used the supplied cable for that reason here in the house, since I've plenty of others. I'll keep it around for use on the move. There's also some weight to it -- approximately 11.6 oz., slightly less than 3/4 of a pound. Weight indicates quality and storage capacity but it's a concern for some uses. For example, I'd consider it a very worthwhile trade-off to toss in my laptop bag when heading to the airport, but it's not something I'd want to put in the lower pocket of my cargo shorts for a day hike. I probably wouldn't even throw it in the backpack for a day hike. But if I were going on a multi-day backpacking trip I'd certainly bring it and try to cut weight in another area. Since I go to the woods often, the rock-surface texture that give such a great grip and appearance strikes me as being more likely to collect dirt and perhaps be somewhat harder to clean than a plain smooth surface would be. This may or may not be the case. I'll find out soon enough and update this review after I know for sure. To sum up the negatives: * Supplied charging cable is shorter than I would prefer * There is no supplied AC wall adapter * A bit heavy for some uses such as day hikes * Rock-surface coating may possibly be harder to clean (not verified, only speculation) Conclusion This is a quality product that does what it's intended to do very well. While there are a couple of shortcomings, they are by no means deal-breakers and can be overcome very easily. In fact, most people will be like me and already have longer cables and wall adapters that will work just fine. If not, they are simple to acquire. Just keep it in mind and decide if you need extras or not. I've not had sufficient time to verify how it performs over time, but I will continue to put it through the paces and update this review later and create a video to report additional findings. For now, I recommend this as a great power bank offering portable convenience and sufficient storage for multiple charges in a stylish and easy-to-use package. Four stars is not enough. But it's not quite five.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Star value First I am impressed when I opened the box. It is well packed with cushion on all side. Second the texture of the power bank, its a rock feel and easy to hold in the hand. Not slippery like other power banks. Third, I am able to charge my android phone by connecting to the Power bank when it is connected to the Charger. So that same time I am getting 2 devices charged. I love it really. My previous power bank wont charge my cell phone when it is getting charged. Less wire and saves me more time. Only thing I dislike is the length of the cable that they provided is not enough for me :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but... When the device itself is charging, the charging indicator lamps are tiny and difficult to see. When the Power Bank is charging another device there is no indicator lamp at all to indicate it is functioning. Also, the on/off switch is tiny and the same color as the surrounding panel... difficult to use as well as see. With these small annoyances out of the way, the unit charged an iPhone 6 from 30% charge to full charge in about an hour, and an iPad 3 from 50% charge to full charge in a little over two hours. Seems about right and it still had some charge left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps on keeping on -- great power source! The SHARKK 15000mAh Power Bank is an exceptional charger. While larger and heavier than most similar products, it is still light (only 12.25 ounces) and saying that it is large at 5 7/16 x 3 is, again, a relative term. What I discovered is, for that bit of additional size and weight, the charging capability of this little unit is truly amazing. After fully charging it for the first time, I plugged my Galaxy Note 4 and my son's Galaxy S3 into the 2.1 amp and 1 amp ports respectively. The Note 4 charged from 2% to 100% in roughly the same time as a standard wall charger (NOT the adaptive fast charger it comes with), with the S3 charging from 0% to 100% more slowly from the 1 amp port. I then topped off my wife's iPhone 5S from 45% to full, and with power still remaining, plugged in my Toshiba Tab Pro 8.4 tablet which charged from 4% to full. The last charge was overnight, and somewhere in there, the external pack ran out of power. After another full recharge, I plugged my iPad Air 2 into the 2.1 amp port, charging it from 3% to 100% in essentially the same time as the Apple wall charger (same amperage). Again, there was still power left, so I charged my Note 4 from 35% to full, then charged the iPhone 5S from 18% to 90% (2.1 port) simultaneously with a small bluetooth speaker from 0% to nearly full (1 amp port) before the Power Bank was fully discharged. For my third charge, I decided to concentrate on phones. This time, the Note 4 charged from 4% to 100%, the Galaxy S3 from 7% to 100%, the 5S from 8% to 100%, and the Note again a day and a half later from 10% to 100%. The SHARKK Power Bank still had one light of the four blue power lights lit, so there was power to spare, but with nothing left to charge, I decided to share my experience. The unit is well packaged in a small heavyweight cardboard box, with the charger surrounded by precisely cut foam and the charging cord and literature underneath a separate layer of protective cardboard. The overall build quality of the charger is excellent, with all three connectors (two charging USB and the re-charging micro-USB) solidly in place with no sign of give or looseness. The 2.1 amp port is clearly marked with two dots, the 1 amp with one dot. The entire battery pack is solid feeling with no rattles, and the attractive rock grey finish seems especially tough and relatively impervious to scratches. That said, because it is something that will no doubt see a lot of time in backpacks and travelling, I do wish that SHARKK had included a carrying pouch to protect the battery pack over the long haul. Standby time seems fine, with the fully charged unit still showing four blue lights (indicating full charge) several days after my last full charge. As with any lithium battery product, I expect that the overall performance of the SHARKK Power Bank will continue to improve as the battery is broken in. Considering bang for the buck, purchasing this charger is an easy decision. Priced in the mid to upper thirties at the time of this review, the SHARKK is roughly five dollars more than my 8400mAh USB charger and it's a heck of a lot more charger for the money and is far more useful. Looking at reviews for other products that SHARKK sells, it is clear that the company is making their mark, establishing a reputation for selling products that are carefully-designed, well-packaged, solidly supported and warrantied, and that offer outstanding performance and value for the money, especially relative to the competition. The SHARKK Power Bank has a one year warranty, and the literature included shows in numerous places that the company clearly cares about customer satisfaction, is readily available for questions and to resolve issues, and takes customer feedback seriously. The Power Bank is a great value for anyone seeking a high-quality high-milliamp USB charger at a great price. Highly recommended! Please note that I was provided with a free copy of this item for testing and my fair and honest evaluation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product This is a simple, reliable, and useful product. It charges my iPhone 6 quickly. It's also durable enough to throw in a bag without worrying about it. I bought another charger with a solar panel on one side to help keep it charged. I use his more often because I'm always concerned about breaking the solar part. All things considered, I'd buy this over a fancier one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and longlasting Have used for a couple weeks now, and am happy with this Power Bank. It has a high-amp charging output on one side, and another lower output on the other. Does not feel cheap in the way it is made. Cannot outlast this Power Bank in a day no matter how much I use my iPhone.
